22.01.2022 Attention Couples planning August Weddings At 9am today the QLD Premier announced that as of 1am on the 8th August the QLD border is closed to NSW and ACT. The closure will be reviewed by the end of August.

22.01.2022 It’s Mango season in Tropical North QLD which means the weather is getting balmy, the locals start going ‘Troppo’ and it’s fair game to raid the random mango trees you find that aren’t on private property I only have 2 more ceremonies until the end of my 2020 season. It will be a bittersweet end to a crazy pandemic fueled year but I am very grateful for many of my experiences. Since that pesky NSW border closure, they relocated their wedding from the Hunter Valley, changed dates, found an incredible and loving set of wedding suppliers and yesterday after 10 years together they were MARRIED! It was intimate. It was emotional. It was SO bloody AMAZING!!... 18.01.2022 8 yrs ago my two dear friends eloped to Bali, exchanged vows and committed to life as Husband & Wife. Last night on Sakeenas 40th birthday we had an intimate gathering of friends to eat cake, celebrate her life & have some fun! She pulled out her wedding dress which made everyone smile, I shared the Taylor Mali reading, ‘How Falling in Love is like Owning a Dog’ (suited perfectly to these two dog lovers) and then we casually but, oh so happily, locked in the legalities under Australian marriage laws. 13.01.2022 Last Thursday I was asked by The Cairns Post to contribute my opinion on the topic of The Whitsundays securing $99 flights from Brisbane when, here in Cairns we are struggling with limited but very expensive flights, and our industries are sinking. Firstly, I’m not posting this for any praise but to share my opinion. + I had no idea my photo would turn into 2 & I’d make the front cover. I am a very proud Cairns local & Tropical Nth QLD resident, and I’m grateful to be asked... to share my opinion on this matter. I believe wholeheartedly that the QLD Premier needs to give us a date ASAP and OPEN the border! My wedding industry is struggling, Tourism is struggling, small business is struggling & it’s obvious Australia is on its way to minimal COVID cases. Let’s get things moving now! 90% of my 2020 couples between April - Sept have Cancelled or Postponed their day. I support their decision 100% and have worked closely with them since March to land on their choices. But there are some in September & October that are still holding onto hope and waiting for answers. People need time to PLAN. Book flights. Hotels. Get holidays. Work with their Vendors! 01.01.2022 Forget Bali or Fiji as a Wedding destination and consider Fitzroy Island, Tropical Nth QLD. On Monday 6th July I had the pleasure of conducting the elopement ceremony here of two exceptional Cairns locals. They were joined by their two young children and a small, intimate group of dear family and friends. It was a magical and memorable day for so many reasons. Here are just a few.... The couple did ‘their day, their way!’ We chose a pretty little forest section behind Nudey Beach as the elopement space. T & J gave me their full trust to write a unique wedding script based on their special history as a couple and family. The winter weather was stunning! The young children in attendance had a lovely mix of being involved in the ceremony but also casually and happily played on the surrounding rocks. Fun Fact The bride, Tracey saw my social media post back in January after I had married Malin + Curtis on the island. It prompted her to contact me about my marriage celebrant services on Fitzroy Island. As the day was a private affair the only photos I took were these location shots. From July 10th the Queensland boarder is OPEN to all Australian States except Victoria. 2. The boarder between QLD & VIC will remained closed for now. 3.
