24.01.2022 Shoutout to Hanna who pulled her first ever 100kg deadlift today! Hanna started with me in Feb 2019 and for the first year of training didn’t want any kind of powerlifting programming just some basic weights. Fast forward to Feb 2020 Hanna started her first program initially testing at a 75kg deadlift. She took over her dads coaching sessions and has now dropped nearly 10kgs and put 25kgs onto her deadlift! Well done, bring on a double BW deadlift later this year. Ps. Hanna nailed her technique on the second missed rep by not breaking form just go get the weight moving.

24.01.2022 We have been working big time on squats this training cycle and this week Dylan had a break through where everything just clicked. Here is the last set of 170x3x5 Unity Precision Perfection.

23.01.2022 Checkout this progress! The first clip is Kelsey missing 115kg in her last testing session on the 5th of September and the second clip is her nailing it for three comfy reps this morning. Do the work, get the results and happy days. Excited to see Kelsey take on her first novice competition at HM3.

23.01.2022 Dylan is part man and part PB machine! Dylan started with me on the 12th of December last year and hit a 120kg bench in testing. Now 12 months on and zero training during the covid break he has hit 150kgs that’s another 10kg just this training cycle! Well done bro.

21.01.2022 For the last year or so George has been putting in the work and now it’s time to enter his first sanctioned event in just a couple of months time! Recently I have come to an (probably unpopular) opinion that unless you have won or at least placed at a decent novice competition you shouldn’t be competing in sanctioned events. I have no stake in sanctioned events and maybe people just think they’re going to be run better. However there’s a lot to be said for competing at state...s that requires no qualification compared to nearly every other sport that would require some kind of minimum to compete at a state level. Maybe I’m just getting old and jaded, I turn 30 later this year.

19.01.2022 Ren bringing the spook to her deadlifts with her best cousin IT impression! On Wednesday she hit 110x3x4 which was her original one rep max weight back when she started post lockdown! Well done Ren can’t wait to see you compete at HM3!

19.01.2022 Kelsey nailed 80kgs on bench for a 10kg PB! She hit this last week however this weeks attempt was much prettier. Big week of PB attempts and working out what we’re aiming for next week for the team, I’m excited!

17.01.2022 Big shoutout to Annie who’s really come along way this training cycle both physically and mentally. Well done on the 112.5kg squat and 7.5kg PB! Earned not given.

17.01.2022 Last but certainly not least in the HM3 wrap up posts we have Stella who at just 16 years old went 65/47.5/80/192.5kgs! Stella has only been powerlifting since post lockdown and has made amazing progress both physically and mentally. I’m super proud of you for doing the work and taking on the competition, it’s something many adults would never put themselves out there for and here you are crushing it at just 16 years old! Well done, I’m excited to see what you can achieve in 2021.

16.01.2022 Rhi has been killing her training and it’s paying off! This morning she went 107.5/102.5/115x3 which is just 5kgs below her previous one rep max. Well done Rhi can’t wait to see you compete at HM3.

14.01.2022 Shoutout to Dylan who pulled a 20kg PB to hit 240kgs and take third place on The Bar Brisbane leaderboard. Currently George and Dan are also on 240kg deadlifts so it’s going to be very interesting to see who finishes top of the table at the end of 2020!

13.01.2022 Dynamite Dylan smashed his first competition ever at HM3 going 210/150/250/610kgs!Definitely my most improved client for the year Dylan really put in the work before (not during) and after Covid. Dylan originally tested in December last year going 140/120/200/460 that’s a 150kg total increase in 12 months. It gets better, just 8 weeks out from HM3 he tested and went 185/140/230/555 that’s a 55kg PB in 8 weeks because he pulled the trigger and absolutely crushed his training and (kebab) diet leading into the comp. Well done mate can’t wait to see it continue into The Sunday Session 4!

12.01.2022 George hit his first set of 200x5 last night! He’s 5kgs lighter than he was at Heavy Metal 3 and getting ready for this first GPC competition in just over a month. Well done on dieting that weight off early it’s going to make this back end of the prep much easier and more consistent.

11.01.2022 Aaron went 240/120/220/580 at Heavy Metal 3 just a casual 100kgs better than last years total at HM2! Peege has set himself a solid goal of dropping some serious kgs into 2021 and I can’t wait to see him follow in his brother @mattpgl foot steps and make it a reality. So the goal is 600kg total at a minimum of 30kgs less BW at HM4 you heard it here first. Ps. Go Honey (Aaron) GO!

09.01.2022 George added 20kg to his PB from earlier in the year with this 240kg squat! Well done mate, can’t wait to see you smash it next Sunday at HM3.

09.01.2022 Aaron put in the work and earned himself 240kg and 15kg squat PB. Well done mate unlucky on the 250kg attempt, can’t wait to see you have a crack at it on Sunday!

09.01.2022 I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their support last year and continued support as 2021 rolls on. It’s been a bumpy transition into the new year and everyone’s been awesome so again thank you, let’s make the most of this year together! : @blacksheepweddings

08.01.2022 All good things come to an end and unfortunately the bromance of George and James has been torn in two as James is moving to the Sunshine Coast to pursue the most honourable thing called love! Applications are open for a training partner for George please slide into DMs to apply.

08.01.2022 I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to the team that I’m currently working with. For me October marked TEN years as a coach which is a huge milestone and one I’m very proud of. In reaching this milestone I couldn’t of asked for a better group of people to have as my clients. I have coached many great athletes over the years and had some great groups of clients. The current team while not yet national level athletes are definitely be most enjoyable to train and work with. Thank you.

08.01.2022 Have you been naughty or nice this year? Well it doesn’t matter what Santa thinks! As a big thank you to everyone for an amazing year if you’re doing a session over the next couple of weeks I have a little present for you. Big thanks to Power Supps Hamilton for delivering the goods.

07.01.2022 Ain’t nuffin to it but to do it! Big Dylan making easy work of his first set of 212.5kgx4x5. It’s been a very busy January at @thebarbrisbane with everyone getting stuck into their training and I’m pumped to see what this year brings!

07.01.2022 Big dog George with the 72kg Goblet Squat #chaingainz

07.01.2022 This right here is my favourite part of coaching. Rhi had worked hard for this chance at a 150kg deadlift and I got to share her final moments before the attempt and the adulation after she nailed it! : @blacksheepweddings

01.01.2022 Shoutout to Rhi for being persistent and earning her first 60kg bench press! Well done can’t wait to see what total you put together this weekend at Heavy Metal 3!
