21.01.2022 Next Thursday Howard Springs will be participating in raising funds for children's brain cancer studies. Come dressed as a pirate and enjoy a day filled with pirate activities and games. Pirate Day is an annual national day of dressing up to raise awareness and much-needed funds for childhood brain cancer. Funds raised on the day are allocated to scientific studies to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for the disease through the Pirate Ship Foundation and The Kids’ Cancer Project

19.01.2022 Thank you to all of our wonderful educators at Howard springs

19.01.2022 Our service has been exploring how to resource and plan for activities differently, thinking about sustainability, purposeful use of plastic and creating oppotunities for children to be more connected to their natural world. Our little frangipanis have created these little beauties. With an open ended expirence that children have ownership of there have been some great achievements. From these potted beauties to the child who was so happily showing me how the mulch wood falls through her gardening tools, everyone is accomplishing something.

13.01.2022 So many wonderful new resources for our friends at Howard Springs to play with. Miss Jess and Miss Kylie have been shopping and the children are loving all of the new resources. We are excited for the babies to play on their new turtle friend. But most of all I think the boxes were Frangipanis favourites. They always say don’t buy too many Christmas presents for your toddlers as they will just play with the boxes sustainability at its finest.

12.01.2022 We would like to say a massive thank you to the team from ‘The Canopy Man’ look at the amazing shade sail they made for our babies and toddlers yard. So much more shade and fantastic locally made quality. Just in time for the hot weather.

11.01.2022 Happy weekends families, It has come to our attention that 2 children have been confirmed to have RSV in our service. Many families would be aware that we have had to send children home recently as they have showed signs of illness, Runny nose, cough and some children with High temps. We would like to ask all families to have a look over the link from Royal Childrens Hospital and if your child has any of these symptoms to please take your child to see a health professional. F...rom Monday any children presenting with illness will need to obtain a medical clearence before returning to our service. This will help us break the cycle of cross infection. Our service has been implementing deep cleaning and sterilising each day while children have been unwell to try to break this infection, we will continue to do this however the best way to help is to ensure that your child is well enough for care. We completly understand that families work, I have 5 children myself and a husband that works away 2 on 2 off so i get how hard parenting can be. I trust that you all understand, If there are any concerns please spek with me monday or feel free to message me directly here. Regards Kellie https://www.rch.org.au//f/Respiratory_syncytial_virus_RSV/

01.01.2022 In the entrance area you may noticed a few new bits and bobs. 1 is our recycle station. We have been working with only one earth to look at sustainable approaches for our service, we have a few plans but the first is to set up a recycle station for children, families and staff to contribute too. Have a look and see what we are collection for recycling. 2 is our clothing rack. We’re lucky enough to have a partnership with Staunch Crab and Archer & I. We have fishing tops an...d swimmers currently available for purchase and pick up. The swimmers are awesome for our toddlers and water play days and don’t even get me started on the fishing shirts. So great for added sun protection not to mention how awesome they look! Chat to Kellie or Sarah for more info on any of our projects.
