09.01.2022 The Walanmarra Artists Group held a stall at the Wollemi Markets on the 17th February. The first photo shows some of their silk products, cushion covers, scarves, suncatchers.. and the second photo shows some of Aunty Ellys artwork. Walanmarra is a Wiradjuri word meaning "growing stronger" which the group feels applies to how art makes you feel!

02.01.2022 11/01/20- UPDATE **ALL DROPS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE** Just want to take this moment to thank you all for your generosity, community spirit and your gen...uine love for our native wildlife Thanks to you we have the resources needed to see the team through for a little time.. We will keep you posted on what is happening on the ground, and update you when donations recommence. Heres How else you can help out! To the residents in affected areas or where wildlife are now frequenting, it would be a HUGE help if you could put water and feed stations out on your own properties and for details of how to do this and what is advisable please read below. **Water stations suggested are low buckets which must have a big rock in the bottom and a piece of wood or large stick so lizards etc. can climb back out and please place these in a shaded area and top up or refresh as required. It would be useful if there are a few placed around your properties. All animals will frequent these stations** **Feed stations ..... same as water buckets or baking trays/dinner trays/cat litter trays .... put a rock in to save them tipping over and fill with fruit and veg mix of sweet potato, watermelon, red apples (not Green) most animals will be attracted to this. Possums and birds may be reluctant so if there is an area where you can put them up higher and off the ground, that would be most helpful. Again, please place a few of these in shaded areas and replace feed as required. Please cut up fruit into different sized pieces to accommodate all animals of different sizes. In separate feed stations you can place pellets and oats for kangaroos, Wallabies and Wombats and scatter hay.By adding red apples to the mix, this will attract the kangaroos as this food is not a natural source and the apple will help get them interest See below for hay and pellets acceptable. *Pellets can be any generic all purpose pellets, Alpaca or pony pellets. Not chook pellets as they are not good for wildlife *Teff or Meadow Hay are preferable or Oaten Hay if none of the first two are available. No Lucern hay as its bad for their gut. Lastly.. Want to give a HUGE shout out to ARC and Jessica Thompson who has been assisting WIRES with the collection of medical supplies and for those who I have been in contact with already offering as drop sites, storage, donations and all.. It has been fantastic to witness everyones generosity and eagerness to help wherever possible and unfortunately this generosity will be needed for the next few months ahead! So please continue being amazing and encourage as many people as possible to help out with our most vulnerable of wildlife If you would prefer to make a financial donation please see previous post from Sally and follow the link. https://www.wires.org.au/branch/donate-bluemountains
