23.01.2022 Stamping Tip A rubber stamp is not JUST a rubber stamp! It is so much more than that. So today I have a poem written by Dot about the humble stamp for you! I bet you weren't expecting that!... ~~~ ODE TO A STAMP It is a chance for your imagination to go wild. It takes you on adventures that you wouldn't otherwise go on. It is a smile on someone's face. It is a smile on your face. It evokes your emotions. It is a memory. It can express OUR personalities. It is better than a crossword (okay, I am biased with this one). It knows absolutely nothing about time! It tells a story. It is independence. It helps us meet new people. It can make us laugh. It can make us cry. It can take us away from our worries of the day. It is a chance for you to just be you. It has no boundaries. It is ALL colours of the rainbow. It comes in all shapes and sizes. It has it's own personality and little quirks It is better than a book ... okay, maybe that is a step too far, but you can stamp in a book! That is a technique all of it's own. A stamp is whatever we want it to be.

23.01.2022 What???. Really what does that mean. Well for customer's everything is pretty much the same, we are still offering the same beautiful Australian Made Paper, stamps etc, and also some international products such as Ranger and Crafter's Companion. The changes are more to do with being a consultant. As a consultant you will no longer have to reach a minimum requirement to stay a consultant and you do not have to be exclusive to Kaszazz. If you would like to know more have a read here https://t.apemail.net/c/nqkqkaahkfjaebcudibvmaabdibqovksdih then contact me to have a chat.. I would love to have you on my team.

22.01.2022 Well l may have bought one or two packets of serviettes when the craze was to use them on cards. But did you know with a little bit of clear texture paste watered down you can do your own background with pages too.

20.01.2022 Stamping Tip with Dot Let's have a chat. I've been thinking this week about the Catastrophe Scale. You know the one?... Where you rate from 1 - 100 how bad something is? One being the lowest, maybe a splinter. And 100 perhaps being equivalent to a Tsunami. It is a great way to put things into perspective. Sometimes the fear of failure (Tsunami) being apprehensive (Tsunami) or comparing ourselves to others (Tsunami) are very real things that can stop us from giving something a go. I say to you ... How do you know that you are going to fail if you haven't given it a go yet? It's okay to be apprehensive (but no one is watching, so don't be afraid). How will anyone ever know that we aren't actually Michelangelo? Turn it into a "Splinter" When you decide how big a catastrophe one of your crafting fears actually is, then you are able to conquer your fear ... Amazing things WILL happen. You will see what to do differently next time. You will see where you might need to practice a technique another 100 times. You will see how the products work! You will see whether it is for you or not. Who we think are the best of the best at crafting are always ... Learning!!! Practicing!!!! Throwing things in the bin!!! Covering up their work with more products!!! Starting over!!! Their judgments are low on the catastrophe scale. Splinters. Be kind to yourselves. Aim for a "Splinter"!!!

19.01.2022 Greetings from Australia July 2020 New Products

19.01.2022 Stamping Tip with thamks to Dot I hope that you are starting to find your mojo again after all the turmoil of the past month or so. He sometimes has a mind of his own and can be nowhere to be found. Almost everyone has struggled with finding way to get back into crafting with the worry and stress that we are all under.... You are not alone. This week I thought it might be timely to share some ideas that will help you to get your mojo going. Creativity leads to creativity. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece or anything fancy. All it needs to be is SOMETHING. Here is a list of some activities that may help you. * die cut some words from white card so that they are ready for you to colour and use at a later date. * If you use a regular sized card, score and fold the card ready to add toppers to. * Go through your patterned paper and see what images you can cut out and have them sitting aside for the future. * Stamp some basic images and colour them in with distress inks, water colours, pencils, markers etc. Do one image in different colours so that you have a selection. Then cut them out. *Gesso some pages in your art journal. Don't forget to do a couple of black ones. * Check You-tube/Pinterest/Instagram/Facebook for ideas. Many artists have regular live demo's on face book. * Look at what challenges are around and think about entering some. It is a great place to check out what other crafters are making too. * Skype/Facetime/Zoom a friend for a session, or just to chat. * 5 mins of something is better than zero minutes of nothing. If you are really struggling, have a set time to craft. Make it part of your routine. * Break a white page with a splash of colour. This can be paints or sprays. It's always interesting to leave some white space. If you don't like it you can add more colour at another time. * Experiment with products that you might have on hand and have never used One that is often spoken of in this way is a Gelli Plate. I hope this list is a help and gives you some ideas

14.01.2022 Does me.... What keeps your crazy away???

13.01.2022 Stamping Tip with Dot Today I thought I would chat about how to add white stamping to your painty surfaces, particularly in art journals. You can of course use white ink. The common reaction to this is that it comes out a little translucent.... It may not be the look that you are after. You can also stamp with white paint. This technique requires a little practice. If you press too hard it can squeeze the paint out and you might not end up with what you thought you would get. If this happens, simply wipe the paint away with a baby wipe before it dries. Problem solved! Or for a lovely crisp and clean white image try stamping with Embossing Ink (Versamark) and sprinkling with white embossing powder. Melting it with your heat tool. Please make sure that your painty background is thoroughly dry first as the embossing powder sticks to anything that is moist. Happy Stamping See more

13.01.2022 This layout took me far too long to do as I just couldnt get the flowers I wanted. The new Greetings from Australia - Gum wreath paper by Kaszazz. with lots of second and third stamping, heat embossed flowers, using masking techniques. Then stamping and heat embossing again with Clear embossing powder on vellum to make the dimensional flowers and finished with bling in the centre. All stamping was done with Distress oxide inks - Pumice stone, Milled lavender, Carved pumpkin, Cracked pistachio and Abandoned coral. Love this photo of my granddaughter. If you would like to learn there techniques please let me know. I would be more than happy to adapt to suit you photo

12.01.2022 Stamping Tip - thanks to Dot Have you ever tried to stamp with Gesso? It is a really interesting process. You treat it the same as you would paint. The way that I do it is to... spread it thinly onto the craft sheet and then stamp into it (loading your stamp with a thin layer of gesso) and then stamp onto your card stock. And dry. Things to remember are: 1/ It acts as a resist. This means that when you apply water based products to it the gesso will resist that product. Or wipe away easily. Ideal products to use are Distress Inks or sprays. 2/ Clean your stamp straight away in water so that the gesso doesn't set on your stamp. 3/ Choose your stamp carefully. If your stamp has intricate detail in it, the detail will be lost. 4/ You don't need to use a thick layer. The image will go 'squishy' looking if too much gesso is used. Personally I would do this with rubber stamps. I am not sure how it would go on acrylic stamps. The same applies if you are stamping with paint. If you have brushos, or other powder based products, you can colour the gesso to your desired colour! This will give you even more fantastic results. You could play with contrasting colours. Most of all have fun!!!

09.01.2022 Stamping Tip Thanks to Dot Do you remember the old saying "If you don't use it, you lose it"? Although it is usually health related, it also... _ pertains to our craft supplies. Unfortunately they don't last forever. If you have spent a lot of money on products then my advice is to use them if you can. Take a look at what you haven't used for a long time and start playing with them. Check your mediums, they tend to turn to cement over time. Check your paints, these dry out also. Shake up your sprays. Check the lids on your inks. Test your markers/pens. A little bit of checking every now and then lets you know what you have that you can still use. The good news is that rubber stamps will last forever, but use them too! After all, what is the point of having the beautiful products without a good stamp.

07.01.2022 Getting a little excited as hopefully all my new goodies will arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to play with Writers Block paper and stamps

05.01.2022 Stamping Tips with Dot This week I thought I would have a quick chat about Distress Oxides and what you can expect to happen when you use them. When you use Distress Oxides and then add water it has the effect of fading the intensity of the colour.... The more water you use, the more fading that occurs. This is, in essence, the oxidizing process. The colour doesn't change with water, it merely fades. This gives you total control over the colour intensit and allows you to create some really awesome effects. When you use one colour, then heat set it, the colour is set and wont reactive as Distress Ink does. You can then add another colour over the top, it again with a heat tooland the colour will sit over the top of first colour - without reactivating it. What is fantastic about this is that you can combine any colour you want without having to worry about where they are on the colour wheel. Personally, I find that doing this 3 - 4 times is enough. Any more than that and the colours will eventually start to mix together and turn a brown-ish colour. See more

05.01.2022 Stamping Tip with thanks to Dot. It was interesting when I was recently watching Jean from Crafty Individualstalk about art journaling during a face book live session. A question that she had received was ... How do I start?... What a brilliant question! It got me thinking ... If you are an absolute beginner at art journaling, all you need is an art journal and papers/mags/scissors and glue. My suggestion is to not go overboard with the size of your journal. It may overwhelm you. Stick to your comfort zone. The papers will give you an instant background. The magazines will provide you with images and plenty of writing to glue into your journal. If you want to step it up a little ... try highlighting interesting parts of what you have created using a black or white gel pen. Want to step it up even more? Water down a little paint and make a colour block on your page that is translucent. Try different shapes and colour combos. It's even okay to use a texta if you want. There are no rules in art journaling. Ready for the next step? How about adding some stamped images. Or some tissue paper/washi tape/embellishments. A more advanced level will see you having a go at modeling paste and different washes over the textured background. Adding more texture, more layers, more play. Keep it simple with a coloured background and add just a little writing. Even one word on it's own can be effective. Adding no words at all is okay too because there are no rules. You will see that once you make a start, the ideas will come. Keep it about what interests you! Make it personal. The only one who needs to be happy with what you create is YOU! See more
