25.01.2022 Reminder that our monthly parkour workshop is NOT on today - it’s been moved to next Saturday 13 March. These legends are off to compete in a parkour comp in Newcastle today. It's been a strange year, but we're determined to go out with a bang. It’s the end of an epic term and we’re all feeling a little .....so we’re having a mufti week next week - no need to wear CAS uniform to class, come in something bright and fun instead to finish the term on a high! 23.01.2022 We've got good news and bad news. Good news is that our awesome parkour instructors have both qualified to compete in a parkour comp this Saturday in Newcastle, how cool is that?! Bad news is that means we need to postpone our monthly parkour workshop. It's ok though, we'll hold it next Saturday instead! ... Join us Saturday 13 March at Eastwood Brickyard Park. Ages 5 - 10 @ 10am, Ages 10 - 16 @ 11am.

23.01.2022 LOOK AT THIS EXCITEMENT This girl in her stylish outfit is our director Claire, who performed as a dancer at the 2000 Sydney Olympics opening ceremony 20 years ago tonight - what a cool gig! Claire danced both up in the seats as an audience leader (aka hype team) and down on the field. Bonus points if you can pick her out of the crowd in the on field photos.

19.01.2022 What a phenomenal team of teachers Last night we celebrated 2020 together, along with our support crew of partners and families, at a wonderful Christmas party full of joy and friendship. What a privilege to work alongside these talented, dedicated, passionate, creative and nurturing people, and see them overcome the many adversities of 2020 to continue to bring out the best in our CAS students. 19.01.2022 Today we welcomed a new member to our teaching team! But she's certainly not a new face at CAS - for years Xiao has been shining on stage as a dancer and actor, and hard at work across numerous classes as a student teacher. It's no secret that Xiao loves drama, you will have seen her on stage in several main roles, assisting in classes, and participating in our exam program. She's also a talented dancer and has a passion for playing and listening to music. Outside of CAS she plays the trombone in the NSYO orchestra and loves playing piano. But that's not where her creativity ends - she also loves to cook and specialises in novelty birthday cakes!! We're thrilled to officially welcome her to the team and see her teach our new Junior drama class.

It’s a great chance to try something new or just get in some extra classes of the styles you already love. 18.01.2022 ~memories~ 5 years ago today we launched our little adults combo class. Our dream was to create a space where people of all levels of fitness and experience could share the love of good choreography without any pressure. It’s grown beyond anything we could’ve dreamed and we can’t wait til we can dance together again soon. Bit thanks to everyone who’s come along over the last five years

18.01.2022 Look what was delivered today - these spectacular tutus arrived for our senior ballerinas and we have been swooning all day. Divine.

18.01.2022 And that’s a wrap on a 13hr filming day of 3 separate productions in 40 degree heat. I am so proud of every CAS student for the way they danced and acted today - their stamina and enthusiasm was inspiring, their performance incredible, and their friendship and love for one another infectious. 17.01.2022 Our beautiful Miss Rachael, taught her last classes tonight at 36 weeks pregnant What an amazing woman, much loved by us all, and soon to be back with a squishy bubba to add to our CAS family. Look at that divine baby bump in action!!!

16.01.2022 Our director Claire has just arrived at the Local Business Awards presentation evening where we are chuffed to be a finalist in the performing arts category. Whatever the outcome, CAS is already the winner in our eyes - especially after how Claire has handled everything 2020 has thrown at us. Show this photo some love to wish Claire and the team luck.

16.01.2022 VIP ALERT We had a surprise visit from our tiniest member of the CAS family last night! Miss Rachael dropped by to introduce six week old baby Oliver to her students Safe to say everyone was besotted and lining up to volunteer as babysitters... if they can steal him away from Miss Claire who of course claimed first cuddle.

16.01.2022 IT’S MISS CLAIRE’S BIRTHDAY TODAY! 2020 has thrown us challenge after challenge but Claire has guided us through with her signature warmth, creativity and dedication. Because of her we’ve kept up classes online, run competitions, relaunched at the studio, launched new classes and are ramping up for three filmed performances. A huge achievement for any ballet student but particularly this year....5 months of Zoom lessons didn’t stop them training hard and achieving their goal. Emily and Sofia you are an inspiration! 13.01.2022 Wishing you a very merry Christmas from our CAS family! We know this year may look a little different but hope however you are spending today you can still find joy.

13.01.2022 2020 has been tough, but together we’ve achieved so much. During December we will be looking back on some highlights and sharing what we are thankful for. Feel free to share your thoughts too. First up: Back in January we opened the studio doors on Saturdays with a range of classes including ballet, hip hop and a new advanced Acro class. It’s such a wonderful vibe, with a mixture of existing students wanting to extend their education and new students who couldn’t join us during the week. We love that we get to run extra classes like these.

12.01.2022 UPDATE Sadly CAS didn’t bring home the award for best local performing arts business last night, but we wanted to take a moment to celebrate making it to the finals. This year has been tough, but it’s also reminded us why we love what we do. We’ve seen the resilience of our students, community and team. We’ve adapted, and through that been able to reach out and support more than just those who attend our studio classes. Most importantly, whether on zoom or in person, we’ve w...atched students learn new skills, build confidence and develop their love of their craft. Thanks for supporting us, encouraging us and voting for us - we are thrilled to have been named a finalist and can’t wait to keep doing what we love.

12.01.2022 Last year was tough, but together we made it through. We were isolated, plans had to be abandoned, and opportunities were lost. But we also danced, acted and worked out together from our living rooms, we launched online programs that reached beyond our CAS family, we produced three COVID-safe filmed performances, we launched new classes, we welcomed new faces, and so much more. So let’s all sigh a breath of relief as we say goodbye to 2020. We don’t know what 2021 will hold, but we are ready to make the most of it. Happy new year.

We are not in the business of tearing people down or pitting students against each other, we are here to build each student up because each student is unique and wonderful, and we want to help them see that.

08.01.2022 Well hello cute little elf! That’s drama teacher extraordinaire Hayley (a few years ago ) This photo is from one of her earliest memories as a CAS student. I remember the scene in my first ever CAS show as a tiny little drama student, where I was playing an elf and roaming around the stage searching for an item and not listening to the other elves who were trying to tell me exactly where the item was! Some comedy gold in CAS’s 2005 show - Fantastical! I also remember how ex...cited we were to have purple capes as part of our costume! What’s her goal for her classes in 2021? I hope that my classes will bring my students lots of joy and that they’ll continue to grow and learn through their creativity. Keep an eye out for some fun throwbacks like this over the next few weeks as you get to know our 2021 teaching crew.
