25.01.2022 When loose parts becomes newsworthy...

25.01.2022 Before I forget! No classes this week (Thursday and Friday) As EKKA show holiday has been moved to Friday our family is taking some time out together and making the most of the long weekend! Enjoy time with your loved ones.

25.01.2022 So many ways to make a mark. Play, fun and exploration of the medium is so good for our mental health. Play, play and play with the medium. There is no right or wrong way... it just is what it is. A point in time, a moment in time....

24.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/705716974/posts/10157326707151975/ I do love a good Facebook video.... I love how he moves his whole body to paint...... There is something to be said for art that requires you to move your body... last week my gorgeous students turned part of their session into a dance painting session.... it was powerful and exciting and showed just how movement and painting go so well together! 24.01.2022 I am very excited to let you know that next term I start a new role at a Primary school teaching the Arts! It is a much sought after role as they do not come by very often (yet!). We know the power of the arts, and to find a Principal and School who value the arts is AWESOME. It is a part time role which is perfect as I will and can not let go of my CAN friends and look forward to our future art experiences. What this now means is that our Monday session has moved to Thursda...ys and we have a few spots left. Fridays session is full. Monday night adults class is still going ahead at the same bat time and we also have a few spots available. WE are looking forward to these school holidays resting and seeing what art we will make. Adults will run on the first Monday but we will enjoy the rest of the break. I look forward to seeing our kids after the break. Keep safe and keep making art. See more

24.01.2022 Kids are great at asking the question what if...?... they have a natural instinct to follow that question through play, experiments, trial... what happens when they are repeatedly quashed into NOT following that instinct? When they are told no, not now(or not ever!), or given an answer...? Well a range of things can happen and they arent positive. Next time your child or even yourself asks the question... try going with it! Video: Miss Eight.... what if I plop the paint down and use a roller?

23.01.2022 For anyone contemplating empowerment over their own lines, contemplating how they might empower others, consider this course. Weather it is for your own self help.... for a career change or something to add to your toolbox..... I thoroughly recommend it.

23.01.2022 It is amazing that with the same tub of things and stuff to create, just how many incarnations of the mandala may be created! Different loose parts speak to different people and even to us at different times..... This activity also shows us how little we need to create..... you can use natural loose parts of sticks and rocks and leaves in your own backyard...... create, make, break it up to create again.

22.01.2022 Why make art? I live with anxiety. I could probably say that I have experienced anxiety for a good portion of my life. As a child my mum would say I had a weak bladder, but that was actually the first signs for me that I was worried. Worried about leaving the house, worried about getting in a car, worried about school, bullies, friends, getting things right, living up to expectations and being perfect ... worried... the thing about worrying is it often sets off that part of ...our brains that is there to protect us. That part of the brain when we feel we are under threat wether it is real or perceived acts the same way, and our bodies can’t help but to respond accordingly. From years and tantrums to shutting down and many more responses. Doing some key things can help us immensely when anxiety and stress creep or pop up. Firstly breathe. Gaining control of our breathing is the first step in gaining control. Secondly a focused activity that has some element of repetition. This activity doesn’t have to be art BUT the beauty of art is that not only does the activity help in resetting and maintaining the calm, it can often also help us to reflect. And when focussing on breathing is too challenging at the time then doing a repetitive drawing action can help with just that. Yesterday I painted a background... I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it, but I felt like painting a background. Today I started a tangle style drawing over the background. The flow of the initial lines, then the repetition of new lines brought me calm and focus. Not being able to concentrate has been challenging me and raising my anxiety levels lately. I am feeling much more focused, now to get some work done. See more

22.01.2022 Life is constant learning and growth. At least thats how I see it. For every mistake is an opportunity to have a new perspective.... for every wrong turn is a new view... for every challenge is a chance to be creative to overcome the obstacle. Every time you ask for help you give another an opportunity to be kind, to be selfless, to demonstrate compassion, and highlight the hope in the world. Every time you put yourself on the line, is a chance to be vulnerable, the ultimate bravery..... Artwork: Completed (or is it?) Mask mixed media. Growing from the good, the not so good....

21.01.2022 When you need some peace, and you need some play.... Air dry clay is a great way to have some fun and feel that release... nature Girl mini mask for the collection.

21.01.2022 My young friends this week I KNOW are exhausted from the year that was and so we are really playing with mindfulness, creative visualisations, creative challenges to focus and calm our minds.... I am always proud of their work, but I had some particularly wonder filled efforts this week. It’s inspiring and hope filled to see young people who, at first, have some negative self talk but persevere and realise their efforts are so valuable and worth it. We have been doing lots... of breath work, drawing our breath each week in different ways. The tired or other emotional breaths start as closed circles of no escape, but as we breath... take some control of that, how we see our opportunities grow before our eyes... And our creativity !

21.01.2022 I am so blessed to be able to support others through Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy (HICAT). I am so grateful to have the interest and skills to help others to help themselves. I am super excited to see how my participants take on board the art activities as a way to see themselves and then create a plan of action for a more positive next step. What a fabulous start to the term. I look forward to our time together!

21.01.2022 Last sessions for the year!

20.01.2022 Creativity.... you never know where it may lead. This term we have been using some of my favourite picture books as the prompts for art making..... when the kids have asked to use different mediums Ive been able to pull them out, sometimes they mix in / blend different activities from previous weeks to see if they will work.... We really are creative beings!

20.01.2022 Making our own stamps. Why? Well why not? Well in early years development Mark making speaks to early literacy (specifically referring to prewriting skills)... going on making marks records thoughts and ideas... Mark making as an artistic practice allows us to develop our style, our voice. Making our own paint brushes and stamps to play with making our marks allows us to play with the medium, explore possibilities, work through challenges of creation of ideas and we will be ...able to see the effect our marks have on the canvas... Really there is even more that mark making offers us but as always our art sessions are always more than just making art. What painting tools could you make these school holidays? What are are you inspired to create? Keep making art friends, I know you CAN.

19.01.2022 It has definitely been a long while since I played with paper crafting. Matisse has inspired many an artist with his bold designs. As we used our meditation and creative visualisation to see what we could in a world full of colour, the joy of paper play returned to me. I’ll have to work on this for a while, but what an awesome starter

19.01.2022 Colours can be more than visually sensed. Colours can evoke memories and thoughts. Colours may connect to people and feelings. This week we play with colour in a bit of a different way

19.01.2022 There is so much outside of us that we may, can and will be influenced by. The belief systems we create and build upon and live our lives by are created and influenced by so many variables. Reflection upon intrinsic and extrinsic values and beliefs are important to keep a check on in order to know if you are living your life. Image : unfinished project.... newspaper word collage on mask.... What is being fed into my psyche? What am I seeing, what stands out.... reflection....

17.01.2022 And I need to play too! Today I partook in a monoprinting workshop. It is amazing how many of the things I think about and reflect with others I need to remember myself. Don’t overthink. Breathe. Flow.... What if? Very carefully I followed the process... then I saw all the leftover bits and thought they looked beautiful... so I asked what if I was to print using all the left over bits? And so I did just that. The. I was off, I got into the flow and before I knew it hours had passed. I left feeling really good about what I had created. Feeling really good about myself. Feeling really good about the people I met and workshopped with. Thanks to our local BADCAP groups for putting on an open day and arts workshops. I never knew I loved monoprinting until today.

16.01.2022 Making marks! We did this in a few ways in tonights adults session. So fun. So creative!

16.01.2022 When I plan an artwork it never turns out. I am an intuitive artist, I create in the moment what comes from my gut instincts. I know that this rule is what suits me, it is not for my art (though when I practice this way it turns out better than I could hope) but it is for my own mental health. Creative Arts practices have historically been about expression, about communication so with this in mind, what is it I need to work on, focus on, express, understand? I joined in on the art activity tonight with my client, and I know my art spoke to me! Artwork- Non dominant hand drawing with pencil and charcoal.

15.01.2022 Play is so important. Using the arts as a tool to play enables us as adults to breath, meditate, flow. We often are thinking about all the jobs we need to do. We are thinking and juggling so many parts to adulting, that we forget to play. I myself have been caught up in the business of life and family and work and business, dinners and logistics..... today I took a moment to play. Inspired by a post from the Kindness Pandemic page. In the wash Watercolour and acrylic...

14.01.2022 Blending, transitioning through colours and having a play with pump spraying paint! Its a challenge but so fun!

13.01.2022 My Dear Creative Arts Naturally friends, Welcome to a new day. As per the current Covid-19 situation and Government regulations Group classes are still on hold. Individual Holistic Creative Art Therapy sessions are available and times can be negotiated at this time to make sure you or your child are able to receive the space and support needed to create art (and we all know it is more than just art). Our Monday night Adult class is still able to go ahead with our two partic...ipants! Group rate is still on offer for these sessions and either cash or direct debit options for payments. I still ask all hands washed on the deck prior to entry to the studio, and cleaning after each class will continue to occur. Our plan has changed for the term with hopes that we will be able to return to our small group sessions as I know this element was beneficial on many levels last term (even though one on one session offer great individualised opportunities. Please feel free to message through facebook or text 0439752335 for more information or to book a time. Tatijana

13.01.2022 Some of our art sessions are about standing up and moving around.... painting with spray bottles and throwing paint. The physical movement a great release from the day/week stress and worries. The play and creation of art to express an idea, an interest, a joy is empowering. We actually started the session with a controlled activity and moved onto the free form from which we will later merge the two parts to create an interesting view of these two ways of being..... Juxtaposing the two yet bringing then together to create a powerful piece of expression and exploration. Being back in the routines might be something we have been waiting for but it most definitely is something we have to get our heads around again so making art makes sense.... a great way to process.

11.01.2022 Not every artwork will turn out ... not every detail will be what you think you want... and that is OKAY... in fact it will probably be more than okay... it will be what it is meant to be... and it will speak to you... With intuitive art, there is no expectation to look a certain way, there is no specific artistic outcome predetermined or designed... it is about entering and going with the flow, being mindful, letting come what needs to come out and reflecting about what th...at means to YOU. Not what I think.... not what others think... its all you... Yes I will hold space, give you some questions to help you but it is all you... I am so proud of my participants this week.... things did not turn out, things were not working, life was a bit tricky last week. Breath, taking a moment, changing things up, listening to their intuition and not the other voices lead to their own realisations, learnings and triumphs.... some of these may take the week to settle.... some of these may have to be realised and learned again... and thats okay too.... such is life. Artwork: turn sideways. We used the butterfly blob style paint process to try and create a dragon breathing fire.... to me it looks like an Ogre with Fire in his belly!

11.01.2022 Classes may look a little different at the moment but we will persevere and take it as an opportunity... Today our session was about facing the challenges that life throws at us and using intuition, play, creativity and art! ... no plan.... go with the flow ... play, listening to our gut and the result of AMAZING responses. I can do this, ... Im just doing whatever comes, this is great, I dont know what I am doing but Im doing it and it is going to be amazing... I love these kids. I Love their self talk through these classes, and love their own unique way of approaching different challenges.... their art is amazing, but the process was the most wonderful journey to witness. Thanks kids! Photos here are not the end product, just part of the journey. Thanks kids for letting me share! See more

09.01.2022 Dear friends, With Covid-19 restrictions still in place we are trying to make sure we are doing all the right things, for ourselves and for our community. With this in mind, and after reading through current government action plans (we have started stage one!) our Kids group sessions are still currently not able to occur as we had started the year. I can currently have 5 visitors to my studio, but as I have to count parents I am capping sessions at 2 participants. 12 June (St...age 2) will see us able to increase numbers of visitors and therefor our kids Group Sessions will be able to re-start with 5 per session. Adults Monday night sessions are able to continue as is and as discussed! Participants are still asked to wash hands upon entry and cleaning before and after sessions will continue! New times/days will be available soon. Keep Creating! Tatijanas

08.01.2022 How does your garden grow? Dear me, you know you already know! Reflection through the arts is empowering and interesting. What have you nurtured? What have you ignored? ... What has thrived in your life? What is your focus? Amazing artwork again from my star Creative Arts Naturally pupils. Because they CAN.

08.01.2022 Same stimulus, different journey’s and outcomes. I got goosebumps tonight from the work of my CAN adults. They were creative, and creativity flowed through them. What an amazing journey to be apart of, to witness! Well done my big people

08.01.2022 You just never know what you are going to get... This is one of my favourite workshops. It is a paint and play, it is about letting go, it is about being in the moment, it is about breath, it is about following your intuition. I just feel it works on so many levels and the result? Well you have to have a go to really know.... Each time we run this experience, it is different, it is what it needs to be. It highlights the mind and body response, it highlights the power of the arts... what an amazingly powerful artistic activity to participate in, and reflect upon. Great for any age, kids or adults! Contact me via Facebook or text for a phone call 0439752335. Tatijana Artwork: after class leftover paint play.

08.01.2022 Creative Arts, naturally! Lots of exploration in ways to make marks, make a splash, make a flick, smudge, smear! Lots of flow this Friday afternoon from talented artists, amazing young people!

08.01.2022 Bubble, bubble, toil but no trouble! One of my favourite picture books was written by a somewhat local author (Josie Montano) and it is a deep and beautiful journey. After reading the story today we explored bubble art in a few ways, and played with breath, colours and some patterning... all great for mindful practice. Slowing down... noticing, being in the moment... practicing calm.... So sad we wont have classes tomorrow but next week we will be back to normal! ... Take care and keep making art!

08.01.2022 Good evening friends! Well, what a fabulous holidays we have had! So much so I’ve put off posting as we have been having so much fun and as always keeping busy. I hope you hve been having a fabulous time too! 2021 is another year to enjoy being creative, using the arts to explore thoughts and feelings and ideas.... Due to school commitments we have a new year and new days to work on our selves and our arts. We have added a new class for our older kids and I will also advertise some adult one off sessions throughout the term. Tuesdays 3:45PM primary ages Tuesday 4:45PM high school ages Tuesday 6:00PM adults Wednesday 4:00 primary ages Classes will continue for the same duration and rates as 2020, yay for you! We will be ready to begin February 2nd! Looking forward to seeing you and making some art! Tatijana

08.01.2022 Super excited to be able to start running kids group sessions again! Mondays to restart and Fridays! Im looking into another afternoon too as there has been lots of interest. Adults session Monday night will continue though we have also had more interest so we are growing. I will let you know I am keen to keep numbers low so we can maintain the relationship and report side of our art classes that are more than an art class! ... Take care. We will Keep following those Covid protocols and enjoy our art making

07.01.2022 This artwork by Maggie and Myself was created using the left over paint from our session today.... would you believe this week we have only been using primary colours, mixing any other colours we want... (after we used up the paint from the pallets we added a little fresh paint... just a little... ) It’s amazing how creative we can be with limited resources... and then what we can find to work with. It’s a great analogy to how we live and work with life... it’s amazing what we can do and how much enjoyment comes with what we have. Thank you to my awesome participants this week. I feel we had an amazing, insightful and deep start to the year. Your openness and willingness to trust me and go on our arts and well being journey together means so much.

07.01.2022 Reflection is a great tool for our holistic health. Then there is intention setting. What do we want and need to focus on into the future? Holding ourselves accountable, clarifying direction... it’s healthy too. Not to set unrealistic expectations but to clarify what it is that makes us happy, fulfills our true needs.... focus. Perfect timing.

06.01.2022 Adults session went so well tonight. As dark as my piece turned out, I quite like it. These journal poems ask us to look for what stands out, to manipulate/innovate and create based on our intuition and A moment in time. Does not mean anything more than we give it ourselves... doesnt mean less either... but interesting what turns up, not to dwell, but to see what pops up and reflect why...

06.01.2022 How do we turn blobs of paint into a spray of colour???? Paint, science, physical activity, experiment and fun! So much fun for our little creative scientists!

04.01.2022 Fun activity this week has been drawing withOUT looking... A game to play at home during this current normal. A game that takes away the self criticism as we are set up for it not to be anything special, turns into something very special... I never knew I could do that I actually really like how that turned out... family time, art time, special time. We got the idea from the Flying Seagull Project Sunshine TV that aims to support kids and families through this Pandemic through the arts. Powerful viewing and participating...

04.01.2022 Multiple pages and links appearing on my FB page... reminder to breathe... meditate... it is so important. Take care yall

04.01.2022 2020 has been a HUGE year. The very first kids session began with a lot of fun AND a painted hand print. We have only been able to get a few since then (taking health into consideration and practice). Still a great reflection of the marks made in the Art sessions on paper and in my mind and heart and hopefully on the lives of my participants.

04.01.2022 What do you get when all you have to inspire you is some cut up paper? Well. Some fabulous mindfulness. After a few slow and mindful breaths the pallets were filled and in moments flow began and intuitive artwork emerged. Wow, what an amazing and inspiring afternoon.

02.01.2022 All so different. All unique. All with their own voice. Love it!

02.01.2022 Finding that safe place, that sanctuary is so important. Take care of your mental health folks.

02.01.2022 What if.... what happens when I mix colours? Exploring how colours can mix and what happens when we do!

02.01.2022 This is a safe space. A space where you are safe to express yourself through your art, your style. A space to explore and find your voice. Paint falls, paint splatters, paint sprays and drips beyond the page... that is more than okay. The shed is meant to be full of colour and movement, which is what we have been working in this week!

01.01.2022 Practicing Gratitude is so very important for our mental health. Making Art is such a great way to explore, play and give voice to what it is you are grateful for. Throw in time in nature and we are able to be a positive and productive force. Whilst Covid restrictions can be challenging, I think much of this list is achievable! Have a go!

01.01.2022 We ended last term on a great note! Making and leaving marks for our art.... for our lives and the world... this term C.A.N kids will be able to participate in the plans I had for last term before Covid struck. Whilst we are still adhering to spacing and cleaning needs we have some exciting prompts to get our creativity flowing! Our new Thursday and old Friday group sessions have me super eager to blurt it all out but Ill hold it in and let you enjoy week to week! ... Keep making art! Photo: One day Ill save for a decent camera. Sorry the lighting and iPhone can only do so much.....
