15.01.2022 Ruffles are an effective (and forgiving) way to frost a cake. They can be used for a princess cake or as water for an ocean or pirate theme cake with a simple decoration on top. You only need a piping tip, coupler and bag and alot of buttercream to create this look as demonstrated by I am baker in her tutorial.

07.01.2022 This white chocolate buttercream icing is very easy to colour for your own creation, it pipes well and it is EAT IT BY THE SPOONFUL YUMMY As Wilton is UK based, it mentions 'shortening' in the recipe but you can use Copha which is a coconut oil product and is found in blocks near the butter at most supermarket (the stuff our mums used to use for chocolate crackles!).

07.01.2022 It has been a while since you have heard from me, but it is for an exciting reason! Our little family has made the move from Guyra to Armidale, only a small distance down the road, but it means that I now have a bigger space for my studio and more time helping people make special cakes for their loved ones! Stay tuned to see some of the custom pieces I have made lately and photos of the special cakes made with them. Also on the way are some new toppers that I have been working on, so stay tuned, good things are on the way!

Ruffles are a nice way to add texture to a girls cake and then style it to your party theme with your choice of topper :) The instructions for the ruffles starts at the six and half minute mark.
