14.01.2022 Another busy week of learning at fun here at Creative Childcare. They also explored their sense of identity, drawing their image on mirrors. Next door in the Matisse Room they continued to work on their f...ine motor skills and cooked some yummy meals to share while getting creative with fruits and vegetables. While in the Van Gogh Room they created their own fruit bowl artworks and got creative drawing their own healthy plates. They also used their number recognition skills to create their own sandwiches. 09.01.2022 What an amazing week we have had here at Creative Childcare celebrating Book Week. We have seen all sorts of book characters excitedly join us each day together with so many great books bought in to share and read together. All of our rooms have celebrated Book Week focusing on literacy, story telling, creativity and imagination. Thank you for joining in the fun this week with all your ‘Curious Creatures & Wild Minds’. Fun fact; did you know that if you read just 3 books a day to your child from birth they will have heard 5000 stories by the time they are 5. Reading books together stimulates language development, sparks imagination and curiosity and is also a great way to spend quality time with your child while instilling a love for reading and books. Check out just a small selection of photos that captured the great week we have had.

09.01.2022 Today we all stopped at 11am to pay our respects as we observed a minutes silence for Remembrance Day. Across all the rooms it was moving to see everyone sit quietly and listen to the Last Post being played and then later hear the conversations taking place. Even our littlest friends stopped reading and sat quietly with their educator. Lest We Forget

09.01.2022 This week on Planet Kotara all the rooms have explored Space Week. Our inquisitive little friends have learnt about outer space and planets in lots of different and engaging ways. 03.01.2022 And the results are in......... On Tuesday we raced in the Annual Creative Hat Cup. All the rooms had been busy creating their own hat, working together to use recycled materials and their imaginations. With glue still drying and some last minute adjustments our contestants were ready. Monet, Matisse, Van Gogh and Picasso were led around the centre track through all the rooms to show off their handy work and get cheered on by their peers. It was amazing to see the end results and the proud faces of all the children, well done everyone. Amanda had a very hard job choosing the winning hat but finally decided on a tie for 1st place going to Matisse and Van Gogh, 2nd place going to Picasso and in 3rd place Monet. Congratulations to all the rooms, you are all winners in our eyes.

02.01.2022 As the year progresses and children continue to get ready for school next year, its not uncommon for parents to say how their children are saying they are bored at home. With the additional element of COVID and limited social gathering this has become more prevalent. Here is a handy podcast to listen to from Raisingchildren.net.au
