22.01.2022 Dumb Things I've Seen (on our Town Boosters page) not only gives a giggle but also highlights what "not to do" in public spaces

22.01.2022 BUSINESS BOOSTER TIP #1 - If it’s not immediately obvious where your doorway is, you are saying to potential customers, you’re not welcome here. The stronger ...your entry statement, the more likely people will enter. This shop has strengthened their entry by: placing plants on either side of the entrance; putting out a welcome mat; painting a red frame around the doorway; and keeping signage to a minimum so it doesn’t compete with the doorway. What small changes can you make this week to strengthen your entrance? See more

22.01.2022 BUSINESS BOOSTER TIP #31: Every business person should be a CHARACTER, not just a proprietor . This boot maker has moved his antique sewing machine outside a...nd does some of his repair work on the footpath. And because his shop is part of the French Quarters in Cleveland, he has adopted the character of a French shoe repairer. This adds significant value to the visitor experience. What can you do, to not just be some generic shop attendant, but to be a real character? See more

21.01.2022 DTIS #7 - "Business as usual".....where?

21.01.2022 These chairs are dotted along the foreshore here in Penguin. Talking to a local couple they have been here for awhile. No one takes them or break them. How great is that.

18.01.2022 Another great tip for small business

17.01.2022 COMPETITION TIME - You could WIN a copy of Your New Wings (personally signed by the author David Engwicht) simply like this post and the Town Boosters Facebook page.

14.01.2022 We are so incredibly proud to launch "The Great Race". David Engwicht's wish for his upcoming 70th birthday was to create his own sculpture (for Civosity Park) and have it cast in bronze. This sculpture has been funded by family, friends, locals and those that value David's contributions to the community. Thank you all for your generosity, we have been blown away! We can't wait for everyone to check out the great race when they get a chance

10.01.2022 BUSINESS BOOSTER TIP #32: Locals in Brooklyn, NY, often take their interstate or international visitors to meet the characters in their neighbourhood shopping ...area - like this butcher. Notice that he not only dresses the part, but has historic photos of his business on the wall. What can you do that makes you so distinctive that locals bringing their visitors to meet you? See more

09.01.2022 This giant fibreglass mushroom was created by David Engwicht more than 13yrs ago...it has sat in storage unloved....until now. This mushroom will be a key part of the new installation in Civosity Park (in our empty corner)

09.01.2022 BUSINESS BOOSTER TIP #6 - If people walking PAST your business feel like they’re already IN your business space, it reduces their resistance to entering, espe...cially for the first time. It also gives them a taster of the experience on offer inside. This business in Cleveland accomplished both these things by extending the work table (at which you paint a pot, then have it fired) right through the front display window. Potential customers don’t have to make a large psychological commitment to learn what the business has to offer. How can you blur the boundary between the inside and outside of your business? 08.01.2022 How fantastic are these additions to the shipwrecks that were created during the Shearwater 7 Day Makeover . What happens AFTER a 7DMO is just as important as what happens during it

04.01.2022 Today is the 70th birthday of David Engwicht, founder of Creative Communities. We hope you have a wonderful day of celebrations

03.01.2022 BUSINESS BOOSTER TIP #5 - Previously we showed you a technique for distinguishing your windows from your doorway: framing the windows so they are clearly displa...y windows. Here is another technique: making it appear like the window display comes all the way through the glass, making the windows virtually disappear. Of course, you can also make your entry more welcoming if you can train your dog to be the welcoming host! See more

02.01.2022 WOW, WOW, WOW This is the latest work of art in our community park. David Engwicht spent most of his Chrissy break working on a 3D tree on our fence mural. It is not yet complete but stunning none-the-less
