23.01.2022 Some weeks back CCD participated in a 4 corners special profiling industries that will continue to struggle well into next year . Tune in Monday night to 4 corners - well worth the watch. https://www.abc.net.au/4corners/the-job-ahead/12697806

22.01.2022 What will the land of custom exhibitions look like in a COVID Australia ? I think we are all starting to feel the shift towards a return to the norm , but there is still a lot to think through to make sure we plan ahead and consider what the customer experience will look like in this new terrain. So designer extraordinaire , Peter Whatmough and I put this together for your view and comment. Think , wider venue aisles , exhibition stand entry points , signage stipulating m...ax people numbers, social distancing floor markers , hand sanitiser units. What do you think ? https://storage.net-fs.com/hosting/6322074/8/index.htm

22.01.2022 Not unexpected news from the MCEC today, but that doesn’t change the deflation for all those in the exhibition and events world. The MCEC is an outstanding event facility and it will be great to have the venue back bigger and stronger than ever once COVID is in hand .

21.01.2022 Its been a wonderfully positive week this week , in the progress forward for the Tradeshow and Exhibition industry with the EEAA ( Exhibition industry association) announcing some great wins . "National Cabinet has agreed to remove the 100-person limit on non-essential indoor gatherings, and replace it with a one person per four-square metres rule. While this is a positive step, our next challenge is to remove the four-square metres rule and replace it with 2sqm. As a result..., I have been in discussions with Governments this week to request a greater density at business events to ensure the recovery is commercially viable for all sectors - organisers, venues, suppliers and exhibitors". Claudia Sagripanti, EEAA Chief Executive #EEAA, #Tradeshows, #Exhibitions

20.01.2022 CCD is #EXPOREADY "The Events & Exhibition industry is ready to do business this year. Exhibitions can operate safely using all COVIDSafe operating plans in controlled environments. Unlike shopping centres or hospitality venues, exhibitions can completely control their environment, with 1.5 metre social distancing enforced, world class cleaning protocols throughout, and the ability to track and trace anyone who attends because of mandatory registration. We can exhibit safely,... and our exhibitors and attendees safety is our foremost priority. The industry employs 229,000 people directly (100’s of thousands more indirectly whether that is catering, set builders, sign painters etc.), pays $11.1 billion in wages with a direct economic contribution in 2019 of $35.7 billion. It supports businesses that sell directly at those exhibitions and those sales relationships for businesses can last for years. Bring it on!

20.01.2022 What a difference a year makes! This time last year CCD was gearing up for our biggest conference projects of the year , and had already completed over 70 exhibition projects ( 10 for the same period in 2020) covering over 3200 sqmtrs of space at conferences all over Australia, NZ and Asia ...oh , and we had served 26000 cups of coffee to delegates on stand #exhibitionstands #tradeshowstand #changedworld

19.01.2022 Nice to have the CCD team back doing some Fitout work . Roll on the Reno - Design, project manage , build and install . Looking forward to seeing the completed project in a week from now . #Design#Fitout#construction

19.01.2022 Flashback Friday moment : So what do you do on Friday afternoon in the land of COVID - clean up the office . Today I found a Womens Weekly magazine from October 2000, that I had kept. It featured images of some of the structures we had design, built and stage managed for the opening and closing Sydney 2000. The nature segment featured our giant Waratah structures (OMG) and closing ceremony Mirror Balls. It was certainly a point in time and absolutely created some grey hair for memory sake . #Sydney2000OpeningCeremony #Creativity #Design #GreyHairMoments

18.01.2022 HAPPY FRIDAY Great news for the exhibition industry today . Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced $50 million in support for Australia's business events industry. This news confirms the Government's recognition of the critical role that exhibitions and business events play in rebuilding the Australian economy. The EEAA has worked extensively with Business Events Council of Australia to facilitate this result. This is very welcome news for the industry. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/giz6Re5

18.01.2022 A powerful image " we make event’s" that rings true for the hibernated events industry all over the world . We are all hoping we get back to what we do best - exhibition , events , entertainment and wider arts industry. #timesquare . #exhibitions #tradeshows #eventindustry #CCD

17.01.2022 While I and many other industry members welcome having a longer term picture ( not week to week) of what is ahead for 2020 , as a business owner in the event and exhibition industry , 100 people events will not bring our industries back to life. Hoping the EEA and the current government lobbying will create a safe and workable plan for larger event / exhibition resumption .

15.01.2022 WE ARE #EXPO READY On behalf of the EEAA members, I attended a meeting with the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison and industry this morning where we discussed the barriers and support that exhibitions and business events need to restart. The Prime Minister’s specifically mentions exhibitions and business events.... We can get business events running again, we can get exhibitions running again, they can be done safely, they can be done economically and viably, and so today was a good opportunity to consult with the industry and get a good handle on some of the obstacles they have, some of the challenges that they will have to get across . Restoring exhibitor and visitor confidence is currently our biggest issue with the EEAA launching an important social media campaign, #ExpoReady. This campaign is focussed on the issues and major challenges being faced in Victoria and to a lesser extent in New South Wales and we are very concerned for all those affected. It is important to note that we need to accept COVID-19 is with us for some time yet, until such time as a vaccine is found. We need to learn to cope and work with the health restrictions and include COVIDSafe operating measures in our planning. What is critical, is that we get back to business. Consistency and momentum is key .

14.01.2022 NZ - GPCME - CCD So close , yet so far away ! This week was meant to mark our first install of an exhibition stand since our industry shut early March . It was all systems go - the truck was loaded , the crew were ready ...then COVID struck NZ , and it was all over . Excitement and anticipation turned to disappointment . What a week , but onward we go . Stay safe all , and thinking about our NZ friends across the ocean . #NZ #CCD#GPCME#exhibitionstands #covid19 #staysafe #novonordisk

13.01.2022 We thought we would be a bit rusty being back in the work zone , but it’s just like riding a bike . Doing what we do best - Design , Project manage and Constructing environments . #CCD#Design#Construct#projectmanage

13.01.2022 Happy Friday from all the team here at CCD ! Excellent news to end the week! A win for the Gold Coast following the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre's announcement today of approval to operate under a site-specific COVID Safe Plan. This means events to restart on the Gold Coast shortly - based on the 4 square metres rule. Claudia Sagripanti, EEAA Chief Executive #Exhibitions #Tradeshows #GoldCoastExhbtionCentre

06.01.2022 Beautiful sunset from the CCD office tonight. Have a great weekend , and a huge thank to all our amazing clients for their ongoing support as we hit 3 months of Exhibition and Event lockdown.

05.01.2022 Always great to share a good vibes story . What's the message ? Never give up , You are never too old, Everyone needs a cool nickname .....any other take away thoughts ? Truly inspiring . #WOW When Julia Hurricane Hawkins turned 100 years old she took up running breaking several world records in the process. This photo is a throwback to last year when at 103, she won gold in the 50- and 100-meter races at the National Senior Games, setting a new record for the oldest woman to compete - and win!

04.01.2022 Happy Global exhibition day to all those who await the opening of our industry - bring it on !

03.01.2022 Great new from NZ - we have our first " In person " conference set to proceed, since the March lock-down . Well done NZ for all your work to get COVID knocked out , and Conference Matters for taking the lead on in person conferences. SPECIAL COVID-19 update GP CME CHRISTCHURCH Due to the announcement of Covid-19 Level 1, the committee has decided to hold the South GP CME 2020 meeting as an in-person meeting. #tradeshows #exhibitions #GPCME 2020 #NZCOVID

02.01.2022 There is a lot of discussion about wrapping up job keeper . This strategy would be a disaster for our industry with many businesses hanging on for the reopening. We don’t want handouts , but we do want the support we need to save jobs and be ready to go when restrictions lift . #support #exhibitions #Tradeshows #savejobs #readytogo

02.01.2022 Happy Friday , and a big shout out to Claudia Sagripanti, EEAA Chief Executive, and her team for keeping the good news coming about the Exhibition and Event Industry . Each week brings new good news and takes us one step closer to reopening. Thank you #Exhibitons #Tradeshows #Events #Leadership "We’ve been heartened by the positive news from Federal and some state governments with restrictions easing and the focus on restarting the economy. Exhibitions and business events are top of mind, with the Prime Minister specifically mentioning our sector in his interview with 2GB. Scott Morrison indicated that a number of industries will continue to be affected by restrictions, including our Exhibition and business event sectors - confirming that our industry is on the Government's radar for further consideration" .

01.01.2022 Welcome back to work to all the amazing CCD partner clients. It’s your first week back to a world that looks something like pre March 2020 . It will be a year to remember for so many reasons. See you all soon.
