22.01.2022 A beautiful friend of mine told me that having a small business sometimes means turning the taps on and off as you seek new clients, or have enough work to keep you going. A few nights ago, I turned the taps on. And reached out. School holidays means I have an opportunity to escape to my gorg office/sewing room and have a moment to get stuff done. Since then, I’ve heard from a repeat client, and have two more new clients seeking my services. Love it, and super grateful for t...he opportunity to help you get your words right. I’ve got a week and a half before I go back to school (work). 22.01.2022 As an avid writer, I feel like now is a better time than ever to start journaling. These unprecedented times need to be captured. From our eyes. From our perspective. For our kids. And for our history. Because essentially, that’s what history is. A collection of experiences and thoughts, captured by ink and paper, passed down through generations, for future readers to enjoy and interpret.... Right Mr Sav? (Best high school history teacher EVER!) So maybe... don’t think that you need to write our future’s history, but if you’ve got a few mind fucks going on, that you’d like to doodle down on some beautiful Australian-made eco paper, and would like to support a gorg small business (my sis’s ) in the mean time, then I highly recommend checking out Saturn Stationery. I personally have found myself wide awake between roughly 1am and 4am every night for the last few weeks. And I try to will myself back to sleep, and check on my babies, and look out my windows, and try not to look at my phone because I know it will keep me awake longer. So I put a simple notebook and pen beside my bed, and do my nightly checks and wanderings, then settle back beneath the covers and write down my woes. A perfect way to clear my head. Also, while this is already TLDR, I’d like to add that my most favourite part of the Saturn Stationery notebooks, is that they have thick paper so I can easily write on both sides with an ink or calligraphy pen (not at midnight), and the ink doesn’t bleed through. But what I love even more than that, is that one side of the paper is lightly lined, and the other is blank. So I can write in my #rebel (lines not needed!) handwriting on the blank side, and draw a picture (or practice my ‘teacher’ writing) on the lines on the other side. Note: Not a paid post (but I should be supported with product, right?! ). Simply my favourite writing book.

17.01.2022 No better time than a pandemic to give a bit of life back to a passion project! So, what is Creative Rebel? Well it started out as MAD Editing (an editing and proofreading service), meets my sewing passion.... and all the ideas....! ... And then my maternity leave finished, and that big bubble burst, so I went back to a job I LOVE!! And Creative Rebel was shelved. So what is Creative Rebel now? Well... if I set rules, I’d have to break them, because #rebel. So I guess I’ll be sharing some writing and editing tips, inclusive education tips, sewing tips.... and I’ve just purchased chickens and a greenhouse, so maybe we can grow a bit of pot. (plants) together?! kidding!! They’re tomatoes!! Unashamedly me. One day I’ll update my gorg website with the deets, but in the meantime, you can support my little business with any proofreading/ editing jobs (small or big!) and look out for fun vids/ info coming soon.
