13.01.2022 Big Reveal of Plans for Play Area at Reddall Reserve We are excited to announce that we have finalised the design for the new play space at Reddall Reserve in Lake Illawarra. The play area will be Shellharbour City Council’s biggest playground to date, and we’re confident both locals and people from further afield are going to absolutely love it! We’d like to thank the Shellharbour City Council for the opportunity to work in conjunction with them and their talented design tea...m. The final design for the play area is a result of community imput and putting our heads together and contributing from our own areas of expertise. It’s Great News for the Local Economy Before long, Reddall Reserve will be home to a brand-new, eight-metre-tall Klix Aussie Made Play Structure that is sure to attract people from all over New South Wales. That’s great news for the Shellharbour Region, community and the local economy. As people visit Lake Illawarra to spend happy times playing and picnicking at the Reserve, they’ll be bringing their business to the area. A project of this size which is CRS largest to date is also great for supporting local jobs since all our products are manufactured and engineered in the Illawarra/Sydney area. We adhere to the highest standards, and the project will ensure CRS and our handpicked specialist fabricators all over the region are given the recognition they deserve for their skill and dedication. Themed Red Lamp Lantern Tower The structure will feature a whole new cladding system design and a themed lantern tower, which is inspired by the local story of the Red Lamp. Are you familiar with the story of the Red Lamp? If you don’t know about the red hurricane lamps used to mark out roadworks, you’ll probably find that your grandparents do. The story goes that local prawners in Windang used to hang one of these red hurricane lamps from the branch of a tree on the shore. When they had finished prawning, the glow from the red lamp helped them find their way back. But one little smart alec thought it would be fun to move the lamp when no one was looking. Then he stood and watched as the poor prawners tried to get back to the shore with no red light to guide them. They would have been left wading around in the mud and dark water with no idea of which direction to go. You’ll see from our plans that there’s plenty of red in the design, the 8m rope lantern will also glow at night. This is a play area that will excite and inspire, and it’s going to look incredible against the backdrop of the Lake’s sparkling water. We’ll share our progress with you throughout the build, so stay tuned for the construction photos.
