24.01.2022 When was the last time you put on some of your favourite music and danced around your room? I’m not talking about a dancing ad performance but dancing just for you. Dim the lights. Shut the door if you need to. Take off your clothes if you like. Close your eyes. Move. Bringing your awareness into your body in this present moment. Your movements. Your breath. The sensations. Feeling your hips moving to the music. Reconnecting with your inner sense of joy, pleasure and ecsta...sy. Xx Cat Art by Yelena Bryskenkova

24.01.2022 "...traumatized people chronically feel unsafe inside their bodies: The past is alive in the form of gnawing interior discomfort. Their bodies are constantly bombarded by visceral warning signs, and, in an attempt to control these processes, they often become expert at ignoring their gut feelings and in numbing awareness of what is played out inside. They learn to hide from their selves." The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel Van Der Kolk, M.D.

20.01.2022 How sensual do you feel today?

18.01.2022 I watched the boys my age talk freely and easily about masturbation and pornography as was expected of them by society’s ‘boys will be boys’ narrative. I was excluded due to what I possessed between my legs, and I grew tired of the narrative that had been laid out for me. http://archermagazine.com.au//masturbation-stigma-and-ge/

17.01.2022 Most men believe that the average length of an erect penis is greater than 6 inches (15.24 cm). This belief is due, in part, to several often-cited studies tha...t relied on self-reported measurements, with means of about 6.2 inches (15.75 cm) for heterosexual men and even greater for gay men. These studies suffered from both volunteer bias and social desirability bias. In this review, the combined mean for 10 studies in which researchers took measurements of erect penises was 5.36 inches (13.61 cm; n = 1,629)... Counseling with factual information about penis size might be effective in alleviating concerns for the majority of men who worry about having a small penis. #sexologyresearch Full text: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/0092623X.2020.1787279

15.01.2022 When we understand why we get jealous, we can manage it in a way that is compassionate and constructive. Feelings of jealousy can become problematic if they affect your behavior and your feelings toward the relationship as a whole. If you recognize a pattern of unhealthy jealous behaviors in your relationship, seek to understand the vulnerabilities beneath. Jealousy in a relationship can also be a real and reasonable reaction to your partner’s actions. In these instances, it...’s important to tell your partner how you feel before your jealousy turns into resentment. From the Gottman Relationship Blog. How do you spot or manage jealous behaviours? 13.01.2022 Life is deeply sexual. Sexual energy is the strongest energy on the planet. Erotic energy is a powerful creative life force that we can channel and access.... Consciously working with our sexual energy can be healing, awakening and transformational on a personal level and this emanates our to change in our communities and the world. This is so different to doing everything on autopilot reactive mode because you are observing and bringing awareness to yourself. The powerful potential of sexual energy is why sex is so controlled, manipulated, stigmatised, commodified and misunderstood. For instance-where is your awareness right now? Are you thinking about things you have to do or remembering a past sexual encounter? Are you clenching you’re jaw or shoulders? What is your body trying to tell you right now? And now? And how about now? Tuning into every separate moment of awareness is the beginning of tuning into the healing creativity of the present moment. When we take this into sexual experiences we learn to slow down, reduce anxiety, increase pleasure and healing and take sex into a transformative ecstatic experience that can be spiritual and profound. 11.01.2022 Bisexual folk experience discrimination, stigma and prejudice about their sexual identity from both heterosexual and gay/lesbian individuals. Negative attitudes towards bisexual folk are grounded in monosexist reactions to sexuality that is not monosexual (for example exclusively homosexual or heterosexual) and heteronormativity. .Theres lots of different levels of oppression going on here for bisexual folk when they also carry the weight of stigma from gay and lesbian folk.... . Binary definitions of sexual identity can motivate people to wrongly be very dismissive of bisexual folk. . Internalising much bigger vehicles of oppression is what is happening from a sexual rights view- when gay and lesbian individuals are negative and dismissive towards bisexual folk. Internalising this binary monosexual prejudiced view can lead to saying dismissive and inaccurate things like bisexuality is just a phase or a stepping stone to monosexual identity. Other stereotypes about bisexual people can be about promiscuity, hiv and sti’s and inability to be monogamous. These prejudices and social stigmatisation can lead to poorer health outcomes for bisexual folk on a psychological and physical level. . 03.01.2022 ‘In an abusive relationship, there’s often a honeymoon phase, as some experts call it, that builds intimacy and sets a benchmark for how happy the romance could be. It serves as a powerful lure; though flashes of bliss may remain, they are meted out through increasingly controlling demands and impossible standards of behavior.’

02.01.2022 When an abuser is a parent or family member, he or she cannot simply become the enemy. A child is in no position to discard a parent who has betrayed her. Deep longing for closeness and affection may continue and rage is denied when it threatens a relationship that the child is desperate to preserve. One way to do this is to reassign blame: ‘Someone here is responsible for these bad things. It can’t be Daddy, so it must be me.’ The rage is converted into guilt.
