Thanks to Andrea Lauren’s ‘Block Print’ book for inspiration and @inkprintrepeat This takes quite a bit of planning and time but I’m enjoying the challenge and learning more patience. The blocks are always waiting whether I have time for a five minute cutting session or a few hours. 04.01.2022 Hi everyone! I’d rather put more art up but I’m finally taking everyone’s advice and doing the difficult thing- introducing myself I’m Kell, the artist and teacher behind Creative Way. I’m a long time Linocut printmaker but I also love painting and especially drawing plein air. I’m currently working on a series of cars (new challenge) and a series of nostalgia pieces from the 80s and 90s - I miss them How cool is handmade! (sorry not into computer art) ... I love talking to other creatives about their work and process. Heading to Noosa Open Studios this weekend I love beauty for beauty’s sake, learning from other artists, and art that tells a good story. My process? - well firstly, the best advice from one of my many art teachers- is to ‘just keep working,’ as each piece will make space for the next two, and don’t get in the way of your own art making Having said that, being creative has its challenges, and it takes work to make space for it and keep it consistent. Life gets complicated, but if we look after our creative selves we can always come back to art; it’s waiting like a loyal friend. I hope to share more about my studio, my process and inspiration in the coming months.
