The somewhat is because, due to the lipid composition, some of the oil is penetrated into the hair cuticle and some is not. ... We think of Avocado oil as a nice middle ground oil, suitable for most hair types! Do you use products with Avocado Oil in it? How does it make your hair feel? Sources: Sciency-Hair Blog
15.01.2022 Plant oils are powerful and so very diverse. Oils in products are used to help hair become more pliable when water is added and to help increase lubrication of the hair to avoid breakage. Plant oils are diverse in their molecular make-up. Oils such as coconut or babassu have a higher content of lipids and triglycerides which contain molecules small enough to penetrate the hair cuticle. Whereas, oils such as Jojoba are actually wax esters and are low in lipids and triglycerides meaning these oils will sit on top of the hair instead of soaking into the hair. What’s your favourite plant oil and why? Have you seen a difference with how your hair responds to different oils?
