22.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that we advise that a decision has been made by the AIDA Inc. Council to cancel the 2020 Australian Championships that was scheduled to... be held in Perth in September/October. This has not been an easy decision as it will be the first time in 53 years that the Australian Irish Dancing Championships will not go ahead. The Federal Government restrictions on mass gatherings and social distancing, gave the Council no alternative but to make the decision to cancel the event for the health and welfare of our community. We can advise that the AIDA Council is working with the Perth Convention Centre to secure dates for the 2021 Australian Irish Dancing Championship event and as soon as these dates have been secured a notification will be sent to the membership. 15.01.2022 Absolutely devastating news this morning from Ireland confirming that the 50th World Championships has been officially cancelled. While this is absolutely heartbreaking news we are so unbelievably proud of all of Liams hard work and sacrifice, training through the hot hot hot Aussie summer and then continuing his training overseas all while keeping his HSC studies up. Your determination and dedication continues to amazes us and we wish you a very safe trip home. Thank u to Frances and everyone at McGahan Lees. We are all very sad but looking forward to 2021!

With the current easing of some restrictions we have decided to hold an outdoor training session for any dancer who might be interested in participating. This session will cater to all ages and levels and will give the children the opportunity to reunite with their greater dancing family from a safe distance of course! See more

12.01.2022 AIDA NSW presents Reel Fitness Outdoor Training! With the current easing of restrictions and the ability for up to groups of 20 in outdoor training spaces, danc...ers from schools all across Sydney are invited to attend Reel Fitness Outdoor Training on Sunday 28th June. This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our Irish dance friends from around Sydney and have some fun! These sessions are for any dancer who might be interested in participating. The sessions will cater to dancers of all ages and levels at a safe physical distance of course! There will be multiple group rotations with teachers instructing, fitness, hard-shoe & soft-shoe drills, strength conditioning and a treble reel challenge (16 bars)! Date: Sunday 28th June Venue: Caddies Creek Reserve, Millcroft Way, Kellyville Time: 10am - 2pm (Exact times TBC) Cost: $15 (Prize money for Treble Reel winners and all other proceeds will go to charity) Please pay the registration fee of $15 to AIDA NSW via direct deposit. 11.01.2022 Due to the COVID-19 virus and the uncertainty of what lays ahead AIDA Inc has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Australian International Oireachtas. We are p...leased to advise that our dates for next year have now been secured and the 2021 Australian International Oireachtas will be held at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast from 9 - 11 July 2021. Anyone who may have booked accommodation at the Royal Pines for this July can call the hotel on 07 5597 8700 and they can either transfer their existing reservation to the new dates or if they prefer a refund of the one nights deposit, that can be arranged and they can rebook at a later stage. Be mindful that the staff at the Hotel have been reduced so it make take a little while to get through, Anyone who may have purchased AIO sponsorship/advertising through the website will have these monies credited back to your credit card over the coming weeks.
