13.01.2022 If you’re an artist or photographer looking to display or sell your work, giclee or giclée (pronounced shjee-clay) printing is the golden egg. Giclee comes from French and means squirt, which in this case refers to the process by which the ink is applied to the paper. The nozzles of an inkjet printer spray a pattern of very fine drops onto the paper that later form the picture. The term is used to describe a sophisticated inkjet printmaking process combining high-quality ...fade-resistant pigment-based inks on a special acid neutral archival paper. Giclee printing creates the highest quality fine art reproductions with extra-fine image resolution, lightfastness and stability. 09.01.2022 So many options when it comes to photographic and fine art paper.... Where to start? Let’s talk about some of the basics, starting with the obvious Matte - matte paper doesn't create any reflection. It looks like real paper and light will not be reflected on its surface.... Matte photo paper generally absorbs more ink. As a result, it offers a much more contrasting image: black tones are sharp and powerful and the rendering of perspectives will enhance your photo or artwork. Lots of options here such as smooth rag or textured rag. Gloss High gloss offer excellent sharpness even in the finest details. Gloss Photo Paper boasts impressive, homogeneous sheen, perfect contrast and excellent colour reproduction. Grey tones and colours are distinctly differentiated and skin tones are naturally reproduced. Choose from crystal gloss, metallic gloss or photo gloss finish. Lustre/satin An exceptionally elegant surface, as found in classic photo lab prints, with a subtle sheen make Lustre Photo Paper is the perfect choice when a versatile but high quality photo paper is required. Options include smooth pearl and baryta. Just remember, there are no set rules of what is wrong or right when it comes to paper choose in fine art printing.

07.01.2022 Paper weight is measured in gsm (grams per square meter). It means just that the higher the paper grammage, the thicker and sturdier the paper. This isn't something you need to worry about too much as all of our photographic and fine art papers are a suitable weight for professional printing. Generally however, ... 60 - 100gsm is standard for most office print paper.... 110 - 140gsm is the weight typical of most traditional poster papers. It's sturdy enough to withstand a little wear and tear but too thin for a fine art printing. 210 - 300gsm is generally the weight for a premium fine art paper, offering rigidity and a more substantial feel. Generally a heavier gsm is also preferable if you are creating a large print for display as it is easier to mount. 310 - 400gsm is a much thicker, card-like paper. Think greeting cards, business cards or tags.
