21.01.2022 Crescent Head Public School will be holding its 2021 Kindergarten Orientation Expo today from 9am. This is a great opportunity to meeting the teachers and become familiar with the school environment. A light refreshment will be provided to families afterwards.

11.01.2022 Hard to believe that we are already up to our 4th week of school transition. The children are really developing a sense of belonging to the school environment.

06.01.2022 On Friday 26 March 2021, we will be holding our Annual General Meeting at 3:30pm at the Crescent Head Community Pre-School. At this meeting, we will be electing office-bearers of the association and ordinary committee members for the next term (12 months). We will also be receiving committee reports on the activities of the Pre-School during the preceding year.

I love these words from my of my play school dad's regarding a proposed Bill in the SD legislature (if you'd like, google "SB 177 South Dakota 2021"... for more info): "This is a big reason why ppl oppose what’s dubbed the homeschool bill, or sb177. Legislators across our state don’t see how kids can possibly be getting an education without sitting in a chair listening to an adult tell them what they need to know. For starters, that’s not education. That’s school. Education is exploring, learning, and failing. That doesn’t happen at a desk. And it doesn’t happen the same way for every kid. This is why sb177 is so important. It expands the freedom for parents to educate their kids the way that best fits their child and their need. I’ll be making a lot of calls and e-mails this week as the house Ed committee prepares to hear this bill. I encourage you to do the same." I love this, especially the part about education doesn't happen the same for every kid. Absolutely, 100%. Attempts to standardize education and make it something that must happen in a desk with books, paper and pencils tend to forget this absolute fact.
