16.01.2022 Just one persons opinion. Now with this epidemic affecting our little community it is time. It is time to support all our little businesses that are being effe...cted by the reduction of tourists in our village. All these businesses at some time have employed family, friends or acquaintances. All these little businesses put money back into our village. Some have reduced their trading hours, some are operating as usual with a greatly reduced trade, some have closed their doors and hopefully will open again when all this is over. Im not saying we need to go out of the ordinary but every bit helps. Instead of buying your bread in Kempsey support our bakery, instead of buying your lawn mower fuel in Kempsey support our servo. Buy that pen you need from the newsagents, buy that packet of biscuits from Foodworks instead of Woollies, grab your 6 sausages from the butcher, grab your alcohol from 1 of the 3 places in town that offer it, duck into the chemist to get your script filled or do your banking. Go online to support the clothes shops. Grab a takeaway dinner or a coffee from the food establishments that are still open. I know a lot already do but if more locals spend even $5 more in the village it will go a long way towards these shops being able to continue operating. We are extremely lucky to have the range of shops that we do here in Crescent Head and it would be a great shame if at the end of this if even 1 has to shut its doors forever. It is time to stop the divide that has been in the village for a while and act as one to support each other so every business keeps going. I congratulate the Country Club that is still doing its bit for our community by offering home delivery for other businesses in town. I congratulate the Real Estates and caravan park for doing what they can to reduce the tourists in town even though it effects every other business in town but that is how it must be. When this is over, and it will be, and the businesses that have had no choice but to close are able to reopen, it will be time to support those too as they will be employing our locals again and contributing money back into our wonderful little village. It will be time to pop into the club and say thank you while grabbing a drink, it will be time to grab dinner at some of our very very good food places. But for now it is time to keep our village going, it is time for everyone to watch out for each other as well as ourselves, it is time to unite as a village and make sure it stays the place we all love.
