24.01.2022 A little bit of info for those who work for cash: If you get hurt on the job there is NO insurance, no work cover, no health, NOTHING. Lose a finger? So sorry. This is why there is 'Fair Work' and Award wages. It is there to protect you. The weed control industry is covered by The Pest Control Award.. AS yet, we do not have our own award and Pastoral doesn't cover it either.

15.01.2022 TODAY. Award wages rise by 1.75% for our industry.

13.01.2022 During dry or flood conditions, preventing weed spread is a priority for landholders. Cattle can consume weed seed and move it to a weed-free property. Prickl...y acacia (Vachellia nilotica) seedpod drop occurs from October to January. Seeds can take up to six days to pass through cattle’s digestive system. Landholders have a general biosecurity obligation not to spread category 3 restricted invasive plants under the Biosecurity Act 2014. One preventative practice to follow is to hold cattle in yards pre or post movement to empty out. Read more here: https://bit.ly/3p1BEGP See more

13.01.2022 As per Fair Work.. wage increase of 1.75% will apply to Crescent from 1st November 2020.

10.01.2022 Which species of cacti are regulated in Queensland? All species of cacti from the genus Opuntia (the prickly pears) are regulated in Queensland, except for Indi...an fig (Opuntia ficus-indica). Also regulated are all species in the genus Cylindropuntia (cholla cacti), Harrisia cacti (three species), Eve’s pin cactus (Austrocylindropuntia subulata) and cane cactus (Austrocylindropuntia cylindrica). All of these cacti are invasive and the Biosecurity Act 2014 lists these species into either prohibited matter or restricted matter (find a full list at https://bit.ly/QLD_invasive_plants). Pictured here is Harrisia cactus. #cactusfeatureweek

08.01.2022 Crescent operates on the 'Pest Control Industry Award' as per Fair Work advice... But now call me confused because I thought there was an increase to be applied after EOFY and as yet am unable to locate it. Will call Fair Work on Monday for their professional advice.

05.01.2022 Being Queenslanders we are proud to say we remain CV19 FREE. All care is taken to remain so. Keep your distance and maintain personal hygiene. No problem.

03.01.2022 Would love to give a HUGE shout out to the man who does our decals for our cars. Marty of Doodlebug Signs. He is a dad, a local and a very creative man. Recently I sent him a photo in desperation saying 'I just want it in a silhouette'.... So Southlands Grazing has a new logo:

02.01.2022 Lots of tooing and froing looking at jobs currently, quoting on jobs. We will go almost all over Qld. If we are not a right fit for your job we will suggest alternatives.

01.01.2022 Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to help us protect Australia from plant and animal pests and diseases. Fancy yourself a bit of a biosec...urity expert? Mission Biosecurity (www.missionbiosecurity.com.au) has a bunch of interactive and digital resources for you to test your knowledge and skills as a biosecurity champion. Or if you're still learning, jump on over to discover what biosecurity is, how it can impact our way of life and how we can all help protect our environment, community and economy from biosecurity baddies. It's a national initiative aimed at strengthening biosecurity awareness and prevention and we'd love for you to share it so we can all help protect our beautiful state and country! #missionbiosecurity
