22.01.2022 It is National Volunteer Week, which is a great reminder of the work done by volunteers everywhere. Our thanks go out to the volunteers all over the Coast, and especially those supporting Crestani Scholarships. Thank you all for your efforts. Yvonne Crestani

22.01.2022 A few of our volunteers were recently treated to a demonstration of the new HyperArc radiation therapy treatment machine at the Central Coast Cancer Centre in Gosford. For the full story follow the link in this post. HyperArc allows multiple tumours to be treated simultaneously and with greater precision. This means patients require fewer sessions and are typically of much shorter duration than traditional stereotactic radiation therapy treatments. Crestani Scholarships, a r...egistered charity, through its scholarship program is delighted to be associated with helping to enhance the best practices for applying this and other cancer treatments on the Central Coast. It is your support that helps make this happen and for which we are incredibly grateful.

18.01.2022 ABOUT OUR VOLUNTEERS - Apart from designing and producing websites for businesses and not-for-profit organisations around the Central Coast Jean and his wife Sarah (who is also an IT professional) aim for a more sustainable lifestyle. They work daily on their permaculture designed garden where they produce organic fruits, vegetables and eggs. This nutrient-rich food is mainly for their own consumption but also to trade with friends. When they have a glut, they occasionally se...ll their produce at local food co-op FIG (Food Integrity Group), which is a volunteer-based organic food Co-Op in Ourimbah that sells chemical-free food sourced from local farmers on the Central Coast. Growing their own food not only saves Jean and Sarah money but it also keeps them fit and healthy. And they are more resilient during times of natural disasters or pandemic.

16.01.2022 We would love to hear from our loyal community members who support the Central Coast Cancer Centre through the Crestani Scholarships as to what you would like to see and hear in 2021. We are well known for the professional entertainment, fashion parades and get-together events and would like to hear from you about your preferences and memories of some of our functions in a post COVID-19 era. So please contact us with your ideas/requests, via Facebook or contacting any of our... volunteers. Meanwhile, we hope everyone is still staying safe with new isolation restrictions being lifted a little. We don’t want to take two steps forward and three steps back. So please go slowly. While we still wait for confirmation of a safe environment, our Volunteers are planning for what we should do next year. Yvonne Crestani

14.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to postpone the performance of La Traviata. With the likelihood that the current COVID-19 restrictions on performances, such as the 5 singer limit, will still be in place in February, we have decided not to compromise the quality of the production, and have postponed it until Sunday the 24th of October 2021. Thank you all for your understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch. In the interim we will whet your appetite for the opera with a beautiful soirée at the Japanese Gardens. More details soon. Watch this space.

14.01.2022 This is just a reminder that although the medical system is preparing for COVID-19 it is also still there for our other medical needs. GPs & Specialists are still working AND Surgery is STILL available if needed. In fact, the Government has even just announced that some elective surgeries are going to recommence. So please: * Don’t overlook any symptoms that you may have... * Don’t delay ANY diagnosis of any kind. and * Remember that you can use Telehealth where you can See more

Thank you to all our supporters who together are helping to achieve better outcomes for cancer patients by funding further education to advance skills and techniques in cancer treatment.

06.01.2022 Planning is underway for 2021 events. Our Twilight Soiree is a popular social event in our calendar and might have to be early in 2021 instead of the usual November date. But we will keep you posted on this by way of Facebook. The magical performance of La Traviata at Greenway is scheduled for February 2021 and rehearsals are being conducted while observing isolation rules. The performance date of La Traviata will be confirmed later down the track. In the meantime, if you have any ideas for social isolation style events in 2020, or post COVID-19 2021 event ideas, we would love to hear from you. Yvonne Crestani

06.01.2022 A big shout out to the volunteers of Crestani Scholarships Ltd as they continue to work right through this Covid pandemic outbreak. Planning has continued for the past five months with volunteers giving their time to organise, arrange and manage finances and computer work. Meetings have been social distancing. Zooming is now part of the schedule. We have an extremely talented group of people, a Finance Committee for checks and balances for transparency reporting. We have a Ma...nagement Team and an ‘Events Committee’ who specialise in anything from Opera to High Teas to Fashion Parades and are already planning events for next year. Our members are experienced in many fields such as Webmaster, IT specialists, Business Analyst, Social Media, Photography, Videography and Law. We have a Project Manager, Compliance officer, Clerical assistants, Marketing Design and Graphics. All of these talented people donate their time and expertise to work behind the scenes without applause or attracting attention to help make things better for people suffering Cancer. We are extremely indebted to our Sponsors. Those organisations and private citizens who support our foundation financially and by lending their support in so many ways. At this point I would like to mention those essential workers in hospitals, the Health Workers, Transport People, Paramedics, Police, Firemen, and the SES for whom we have the greatest respect. I am sure there are many others far too many to mention. They really are Essential Workers. Thank you to you all. Yvonne Crestani
