23.01.2022 We’re excited to announce that 36 hospitals across Queensland are now implementing the Safer Baby Bundle. The Safer Baby Bundle is a set of evidence-based training and support for maternity healthcare professionals to keep more women and babies safe throughout pregnancy, and prevent stillbirth. 20.01.2022 Congratulations to Professor Vicki Flenady, Director of Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth, who has been honoured with this year’s Women in Technology Outstanding Achievement - Science Award. Professor Flenady leads a program of research with Mater Research and The International Stillbirth Alliance to improve maternity care and health outcomes for women and their babies.

16.01.2022 Stillbirth CRE Director Professor Vicki Flenady and Associate Professor Philippa Middleton are co-authors of a new paper, led by Professor Erika Ota, recently published in the Cochrane Library. Titled Antenatal interventions for preventing stillbirth, fetal loss and perinatal death: an overview of Cochrane systematic reviews the paper summarises evidence from Cochrane systematic reviews on the effects of antenatal interventions for preventing stillbirth for low risk or unselected populations of women. And while Australia has made some improvements in stillbirth rates over the past 20 years, the report highlights that more needs to be done, with Australia's improvements behind other developed nations such as Japan, Denmark and Singapore.
