03.01.2022 ** Update 4pm ** Sorry about the late update today! I'm still up in Darwin on a work posting and most of the other admins have been out chasing! It's pretty qui...et today in the storm department so far.. because once again we have the issue of a strong capping inversion near the coast which is preventing things from forming locally. Storms are again more likely inland throughout the rest of this afternoon, however things start to improve a bit more locally around Southeast QLD tonight and there is a remote chance that we could see things fire up overnight. Tomorrow looks to be the day where coastal areas will have a much better chance of seeing a storm as moisture levels start to increase quite markedly. The zones marked on this satellite image are my opinion only and differs quite a lot to the opinion of other weather pages in terms of the storm zones today.. so don't hold it against me if I get it tragically wrong! But this is my party, and I'll cry if I want to.. But in my opinion, the coastal capping is quite significant.. and it would almost take a miracle I reckon to see storms reach the coast today. (Cam)
