23.01.2022 What's flowering in your garden at the moment? Please post your photos in the Comments! My Tiger Lilies have started flowering this week. These are probably my favourite lilies. Those spotted and recurved petals are exquisite. They're around 1.5m tall.

22.01.2022 This is the last of our Creswick Garden Lovers Weekend November 2020 virtual garden tours. Many of you will have visited beautiful, eclectic Ophir over the six years we have run this event. Take another walk around this amazing garden with this short video. Owners, Ken and Ian, say: "Each Winter the garden goes into its own sort of lockdown, reminding us that patience will eventually be rewarded. 15.01.2022 Did you visit tranquil and beautiful Yeramba Farmstay Retreat during the 2019 Creswick Garden Lovers Weekend? Well, they've been very busy in the garden since! Take an amble around the property with owner Anneke via this video. Anneke says: "Our garden was our sanctuary during lockdown. With booked weddings postponed and our Farmstay bookings cancelled it gave us time to reflect and rejuvenate: Covid 1 project....a new protea garden with over 40 varieties! Beautiful cut flowers! Covid 2 project.. a special place for our beautiful doves to share with our friends, family and guest. 14.01.2022 Just look what you can do with a small garden! Some people may remember visiting Rossmore Cottage garden open in the 2017 Creswick Garden Lovers Weekend. Owner Marg has since sold that property and built a new house, and is developing a new garden, on a small 440m block in Creswick. Marg says of her new garden: "it has kept me busy through the COVID lockdowns so thank goodness for gardening. I took over 150 cuttings in pots from my old garden and they have all grown and I have enjoyed purchasing lots of new plants too". 14.01.2022 Another lovely garden here in Creswick for you to take a virtual stroll around. Owner Deb says: "There was no garden when we bought the house in 2013 so it has been and will probably always be a work in progress. We added a BnB in the back called the 'Bohemian Art Studio' which in a normal year is very busy. We encourage guests to enjoy our garden and pick fruit or veg when in season. Our latest project was to install colourful hand painted pots with geraniums and lobelia on the BnB end wall. Looking forward to them growing bigger." 12.01.2022 There's a new garden in town! Take a look at these photos from Amabels Garden Gate. Owner, Georgina, says: "When we moved into our house two years ago there wasn't much in the way of a garden, except for two huge Cyprus trees in the front garden. It was virtually a blank canvas. It has always been my dream to create my own cottage style garden and grow my own food and I think we have achieved quite a lot in two short years. Working in the garden and being able to see results ...and harvest food has been very therapeutic for me. During the pandemic this year many of us have struggled with our mental health, this has been true for me as well and I have really missed my family who live in Melbourne. 04.01.2022 Remember Thyme Cottage from the 2019 Creswick Garden Lovers Weekend? A lot's been happening there since then. Says owner Selena: "After a successful first open garden last year we set tasks for 2020. COVID-19 changed our plans, but lockdown provided the chance to ramp up our 5 year plan! A pergola, a lych gate and path at the front, a new parking bay with retaining wall, a front path of 25 metres, stepping pavers and the family's favourite space: a swim spa on a huge slab wi...th retaining walls and native climbers, have all been installed this year. Dozens of new plants have gone in to compliment these new spaces. The wicking beds in the veg patch have paid their way, feeding five adults this year, with the chooks gaining an enlarged free day yard. We look forward to welcoming visitors in 2021 with some new exciting plans to showcase. Happy gardening!" See more
