14.01.2022 Do you know someone who needs to be tested for COVID-19 in their home? There are a variety of reasons why someone may be unable to access testing services - please let them know about this option from the Department of Health and Human Services below. Call to Test - COVID-19 testing service commenced in regional Victoria on Monday 14 September. Key points:... DHHS is helping vulnerable Victorians in metro Melbourne and regional Victoria with in-home testing to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The Call-to-Test service will enable vulnerable Victorians to get tested at home with a qualified health clinician. The service commenced in metro Melbourne on 4 August. The service will provide access for people who have coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms and cannot leave home due to injury, mobility or other eligible reasons This service is available for those individuals who are five years and older and who meet the following criteria: o people with an injury, chronic health issue, or frailty affecting mobility o people with moderate to severe physical or psychosocial disability o people with moderate to severe mental health or behavioural issues not otherwise classified as a psychosocial disability o carers for a person with moderate to severe disability. People without symptoms may be eligible if they have been identified by the department as being a close contact, have received direction from DHHS to be tested, and meet any of the criteria detailed above. Prospective service users will need a General Practitioner (GP) referral to access this service. As this is not a broad-based home testing service, callers will need to demonstrate they are not able to access existing testing sites through family or community supports. Relevant information is being provided to PHN’s and LGA offices. Registration: To register for this service, call the coronavirus (COVID-19) hotline on 1800 675 398. Callers select option 9 to find out if they are eligible for this service. For further information: Please contact [email protected] or visit https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/call-to-test-covid-19
