10.01.2022 It was our pleasure to contribute to All Saints Grammar School Year 6 library project about the Battle of Crete and WWII last month. In this project, co-organised by the Department of Veterans Affairs, students were taught about the importance of the Battle of Crete and the contribution of the ANZACs. Students read various novels and biographies about the Battle of Crete and even had the opportunity to interview Glenda Humes, the daughter of the Reg Saunders who fought valiantly in the Battle of Crete. Reg Saunders was the first Indigenous Australian to be promoted to the rank of officer in the army. We were happy to lend the school our mannequins in traditional Cretan costume George and Kostandina for use in the project.
