25.01.2022 DOG ACT-ION Sharp rise in pet complaints! I need your help to remind us all of our obligations. Dropping a few dozen leaflets in your neighbourhood can help calm tensions. PM me if you’re keen and I’ll drop them off personally! I really appreciate the help!

25.01.2022 Here’s hoping for clearer skies!

24.01.2022 STRATHMORE COURT City officers have done an amazing job renovating this reserve. It is just beautiful. Many thanks to the local residents who worked with me to identify the issues here.

24.01.2022 Victoria’s RMIT has a proposal to clean air and subdue noise along motorways. Options include green walls and active noise cancellation. Fascinating stuff! I’ve written to the government calling for a trial here in Robina, along the M1 and Bermuda Street.

24.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK Honoured to raise an Australian flag as part of NAIDOC Week commemorations. The Kalwun Development Corporation Ltd team, brilliant as always.

24.01.2022 CCTV DEPLOYMENT A safety camera will help deter anti-social behaviour lakeside in Robina Quays. The temporary deployment follows a clean up of syringes, etc. along this busy walkway. Thank you for your support!

22.01.2022 This looks like a lot of fun!

22.01.2022 Morning all what a nice morning! Hope you’re keeping well and staying safe!

22.01.2022 MEDIA LEAK Epic scenes from last night! The water team did a great job and repairs are well progressed.

21.01.2022 Happy upgrade day!

20.01.2022 FIRST AID First Aid and CPR up to date! You can’t be *too* prepared especially during the festive season! MAJOR thanks to Scotty and the team at Varsity’s own First Aid Accident & Emergency.

20.01.2022 LONE PINE PARK Major cleanup of Robina’s memorial park complete now safer, more pleasant. Come enjoy, reflect and show respect.

19.01.2022 Limit tickets available for our COVID Safe Carols on the Lake. Be quick!

18.01.2022 THANK YOU ALLAN Robina’s Newport Park has been re-named in honour of the late Allan Howard. He was a servant of this community and we are safer because of his legacy.

18.01.2022 COMMUNITY SPRAY Graffiti has surged in the last few weeks particularly on our community facilities and local sports clubs. These same "artists" (sarcastic) are ruining bus stops and bus shelters too so don't be too sympathetic. I'm working with local kids on genuine public art projects. But this sort of wilful damage will never qualify!

14.01.2022 Apply for a community grant now! The City of Gold Coast’s Community Grants Program provides financial assistance to community organisations that seek to deliver projects with a whole of city focus, are in the public interest and benefit the residents of the Gold Coast. Due to a change of policy, some programs under the new Community Grants Policy are now being offered twice a year, with Round 2 opening in January 2021.... Past grant recipients include community organisations that deliver sports, music, environmental, social, indigenous, youth and community-focussed outcomes. Applications for the Community Grants Program are now open and will close on 31 August. For information and to apply visit cityofgoldcoast.com.au/communitygrants Where projects have a divisional or local focus, applications should be submitted to the Discretionary Grants Program which will be accepting applications from 17 August to 11 September 2020. For further information visit cityofgoldcoast.com.au/communitygrants

14.01.2022 CHEAPER PUBLIC TRANSPORT Council has backed my fight against higher fares at Varsity Station with the State now on notice! Same issue at future Burleigh tram stop! https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au//7a5d30e1dede77cf497a

14.01.2022 Have a great weekend!

14.01.2022 ASSAULT OF BATTERY Batteries have been stolen from at least four bus stops. This means no lighting an electrical hazard, and expense! Please report suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers. This puts commuters at risk and must stop! https://www.crimestoppersqld.com.au/make-a-report/

13.01.2022 NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH WEEK We’re safer because of hardworking volunteers. They’re real heroes! And it’s a privilege to support their work across Division 11 and the Gold Coast!

13.01.2022 Let's get behind this wonderful Varsity Lakes charity!

13.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day

12.01.2022 We can all learn from Tom!

11.01.2022 WENT FOR A SWIM Our man made lakes are complex and serve a MASSIVE stormwater function. They may not look like swimming pools, but striking the best balance is essential. Preserving native vegetation cover feeds fish and birds and suppresses mosquitoes.

10.01.2022 Let’s keep the conversation going, particularly during these difficult times. A good neighbour can work miracles. Let’s keep a lookout for one another.

09.01.2022 COMING TO VARSITY THESE HOLS I’ve really wanted to lift our school holiday game and think a big water slide is the way to do it! Dates announced December 1st!

09.01.2022 RIVERWALK The current footpath leads straight into the roundabout not good! We’re realigning the path and making things disability compliant too.

08.01.2022 DUMPERS GRILLED It is time to retire this Robina Quays landmark seriously, it has been there too long. Enough.

08.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? I LOVE TREES Nice little reno sorted for Carlingford Place, Robina. The street was opened by John Howard in ‘86. Edithvale Court and Mornington Terrace looking good too after more tree plantings.

07.01.2022 CHRISTMAS TREES So many trees being planted this week across our Division, particularly in local parks. Have you spotted any pop up in your neighbourhood?

06.01.2022 SINDONE FAMILY PARK Dreadful conditions soggy soil, trees growing into sewers, stinky bins and a dirty shelter. I’ve asked for a big clean up. If you’re local, look out in your letterbox for a survey on that playground. Kids deserve more than the meagre offering there.

06.01.2022 Thanks for sticking with us! Carols are on for as long as this weather holds out. But it’s looking good!

05.01.2022 SUCCESS We will be trialling a dedicated right turn movement to improve safety! There may be some impacts on traffic but a trial will get to the bottom of the trade off. Thank you to all who supported the $20,000 campaign to find a solution here. It is amongst my most hated intersections!

05.01.2022 HUGE NEW TREES A tactical urbanisation project will soon get underway along Ron Penhaligon Way. Major tree plantings, new garden beds and turf will restore the pride of Robina Quays! Work will take 4 5 weeks but will be worth the disruption, I assure you!

04.01.2022 PLAYGROUND PROPS Great to see Frascott Park feature in this Council guide to the Gold Coast’s best playgrounds! Thank you for working with me to upgrade playgrounds, boost lighting, install cameras, construct new shelters, etc.

01.01.2022 POTHOLES The wet weather will mean potholes! Stay safe and feel free to let me know where they are! The University Drive/Geraldton Drive pothole has already been reported to those wondering!
