12.01.2022 A few tips from CRISP Air Conditioning Services to help out your air conditioning unit during these very hot days. 1. Keep the room/house closed up, try and block out as much sun coming in as possible. 2. Reduce the area you are trying to keep cool. If you have ducted with zones, only run the zones you are using. 3. Check that your filters are clean:... - High wall split systems, the filter is under the front panel - Ducted systems, there is a big square grille that needs to be pulled down/opened. Slide the filter out and clean 4. Set the temperature to around 24 degrees or higher to help the systems not have to work so hard. If it is a 40 degree day outside, 24 is very comfortable. 5. Check that the condenser (outdoor fan) isn't blocked as this will reduce air flow. 6. You can also try running a very light hose over the coil of the outdoor unit to help clean it and cool it down. Avoid wetting any electrical areas, if you are unsure switch power off to the ac or just don't do it! 7. Switch the system on earlier in the day if you know it is going to be a hot day.
