25.01.2022 We should embrace our First Nations people and celebrate their culture, language, history and ways every single day. The only way back from the past is to move forward together. I was so stoked to see the amazing photography exhibition at the City of Perth yesterday, Moorditj Bridyas (Solid Bosses), shot by WA photographer Eva Fernandez.... The portraits are of ten Elders who comprise the City's Elders Advisory Group. Aunty Theresa Walley, Aunty Doolan Eatts, Uncle Ben Taylor, Aunty Margaret Culbong, Aunty Muriel Bowie, Uncle Walter Eatts, Uncle Farley Garlett, Aunty Irene McNamara, Uncle Albert McNamara and Uncle Noel Nannup.

20.01.2022 Bravo Senator Jacqui Lambie Absolutely nailed it!! I echo your sentiments and agree that the divide between the rich and the poor in this country is getting bigger! I’ll always fight hard for my community and stand up to the elite who demand they get their way. Community is everyone within it, not just the privileged. ... Our kids need a future too! Thank you for this powerful statement!! See more

19.01.2022 Today marks possibly one of the most significant milestones for women in leadership in Western Australia. On this day, in 1920, a woman by the name of Elizabeth Clapham was elected to the Town of Cottesloe. Elizabeth was the first woman to be elected to any tier of Local Government. Cr Clapham was elected a year before Edith Cowan was elected to state government and some 23 plus years later Dorothy Tangney to Federal Parliament.... Elizabeth opened the door for the women that have followed so today I wish to salute her, and all women that have followed since then. I also want to put a call out to women in the community's and ask that you consider standing for local Government yourself. There is another election next year in October and I challenge you to stand up and run for your local Council.
