24.01.2022 Last night it was an honour to host a Civic Reception with our own Local National Hero Vicki Jellie to celebrate her amazing achievement. It was wonderful to acknowledge Vicki, Peter's Project committee and our communities across our region.
23.01.2022 Ballots begin arriving tomorrow! Here are my preferred candidates to work with for a positive, aspirational Council over the next 4 years.
23.01.2022 A very special afternoon tea was held today for Annie Brown's 100th birthday! A unique Occassion for her family and friends to catch up! And Annie says is all because of coffee - about 8 cups a day.
22.01.2022 What a pleasure to spend time with Avis and Avis this afternoon! Avis Quarell has dedicated years of her life to Flagstaff Hill since 1979. How apt that our community honoured her with such a lovely namesake. And Amor and Avis just works together. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=260185701062857&id=100012142863060
20.01.2022 Great to have our Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney MP, here with us today to announce very welcome funding with WCC for a new 'smart' irrigation system for Walter Oval. A very sustainable move - both cost and labour effecient. Our youth cricket teams are growing rapidly (including 10 new teams for girls!). Gordon Mcleod of the Warrnambool & District Cricket Association and Jeremy Gilles of the Wesley CBC Cricket Club are all smiles for good reason!
19.01.2022 isn't it great when something you knew intuitively is absolutely confirmed!
18.01.2022 Where be the treasure? It's at Fun4Kids! With a helping hand from absolutely gorgeous kids we launched the new dates for 2017...and the theme is Pirates! Wednes...day July 5 to Sunday July 9. Five longer days from 10am to 7pm to give families greater flexibility and 1 day, 2 or 5 day passes. Ahoy there! See more
17.01.2022 Hat off to what the Woodfield/Bushfield community have achieved at Jubiliee park. Now such a fun space... and with the new toilets - a place where people come ...to as a destination. Tricia Blakeslee is now happily advocating for some picnic tables and signage pointing out the beautiful paths around the area. These final additions will truly complete a great community project! 16.01.2022 The milestone 50 year Oxfam anniversary walk bet the rain today! Lovely fellowship spent with people across our district working together to help alleviate world poverty. Well done and thank you to the many people who have contributed in a magnitude of ways over the last 5 decades!
16.01.2022 My last official function as Mayor of WCC. What a pleasure to give our Goodwill message for this years 35th South West Sports to Corangamite Mayor Jo Beard.
16.01.2022 North Warrnambool deserves a better share of Council investment. Connecting our neighbourhoods through walking, cycling and canoeing!
14.01.2022 First day of Fun for Kids! So much creativity and cool things to do. Hats off to all of the volunteers (290!) and staff making this a memorable festival for sooo many families!
14.01.2022 Magnificent view as the Canon is fired at Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village Warrnambool. Hopefully no misfires!
14.01.2022 Wonderful Australia Day Celebrations at our Warrnambool Botanic Gardens today. So many incredible recipients of awards and 16 new Australian citizens. So special!
10.01.2022 This was fun and felt important - great comraderie and wonderful that diversity is being acknowledged......And Melbourne is just as windy as Warrnambool!! https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=261252244289536&id=100012142863060
10.01.2022 This is so exciting - can't wait to see children exploring such a unique space in our gardens...well done and congratulations to all involved!
10.01.2022 It's great this idea has had lots of feedback from residents and several other candidates. Let's open up Flagstaff Hill to our foreshore!
09.01.2022 Wanted to share this....Christmas Spirit!
08.01.2022 Deakin graduation 2017! A celebration in all fronts for graduates, families, Warrnambool and our region! Congratulations to all!
08.01.2022 Lockdown has highlighted many things, including the benefit of nearby playgrounds! Their convenience can actually add up to 4.6% in property values.... In Warrn...ambool we have over 70 playgrounds... often hidden gems. Here are two spotted today - one being gorgeously refurbished and another lovely one making good use of a corner reserve. See more
04.01.2022 I've been having some great conversations with people gardening while I walk along letter dropping. So many people are appreciating the beauty of where we live and our walking paths. Looking forward to this goat track becoming a walking/cycling path with bridge access over the river!
04.01.2022 The kids from Hands on Learning did a great job adding to the outside classroom at Tozer reserve with these 2 tables and chairs made from mostly recycled wood! Warrnambool College, Brauer and Warrnambool Primary School all utilise this amazing reserve being developed as an environmental education reserve for the benefit of the schools and the broader community. Previously a pine plantation, it has since regenerated as a nationally endangered grassy woodland community, the largest in the local area!
03.01.2022 It's simply logical to reopen Gilles St Crossing to link our CBD to our foreshore and the rail trail!
02.01.2022 Out and about letter dropping, its great to see little libraries popping up. How cute is this one - great books too!
