We would like to recruit a broad range of people who have had various experiences with gambling including vulnerable and at-risk communities, those that are successfully managing their gambling and those that are just starting out on their recovery journey. If you could share this link to the online form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/W553XNZ with current and former clients that you think may be willing to share their story and provide input on a confidential basis. When and how we will talk to people TACSI are planning to conduct small group sessions of up to 4 people via Zoom. 15.01.2022 International students and visa holders experiences in Australia during COVID-19. Close to 3/4 of survey respondents lost all or most of their work during the pandemic. Thousands were left unable to pay for food and rent, having been categorically excluded from government wage subsidy schemes. This is the 1st study to reveal the depth of social exclusion, racism & deeper emotional consequences of Australia’s policies, which have significantly impacted Australia’s global repu...tation. The findings indicate potential long-term economic and diplomatic consequences of current government policies which are at odds with those of other similar countries, such as the United Kingdom, that have included temporary migrants in wage subsidies. The report recommends the government urgently reconsider its policies. In particular, it calls upon the government to provide wage subsidies and other support to address the critical humanitarian need identified, and to repair the immediate and longer-term damage caused by Australia’s exclusion of these integral members of our community and workforce. #CRNGlendenning #Covid19 #Wearebetterthanthis #Internationalstudents #temporaryvisa

03.01.2022 For the latest information about COVID-19 in NSW and for translated resources in more than 40 languages, go to nsw.gov.au/covid-19. Getting tested: COVID-19 community testing numbers have dropped recently, which is a concern. We need to continue keeping up our high rates of testing and practicing physical distancing and good personal hygiene.... NSW Health is appealing to all members of the community to come forward for testing right away if they have even the mildest of symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough or fever. This is particularly important for people in the Western and South Western Sydney areas where there have been instances of ongoing community transmission. New popup clinics continue to be established in these areas. COVID-19 testing clinics can be found here or call your GP. For translated posters about getting tested if you have visited the South Western Sydney area, please click here. For translated materials promoting COVID-19 testing as free, quick and easy, see #Itest4NSW. For multilingual factsheets about COVID-19 testing, see here.
