25.01.2022 Here's a special photo of my gorgeous daughter Maisy with the equally gorgeous Fraser from FED Cafe in Albert Park, Melbourne. She got evacuated on the last navy ship out and we all miss her! She went to say a big thankyou and gave this lovely guy a big hug from me! FED Cafe have adopted the Croajingolong Cafe here in beautiful Mallacoota and are doing a fabulous job. Thankyou to everyone who has paid forward a coffee to support my small business. I truly appreciate everything you are doing for us and a huge thankyou goes to the FED Cafe owners David and Fraser for their enormous generosity. Love to all xx

24.01.2022 Some very special VIP guests today....the Hon Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria and her lovely husband Anthony Howard along with the Emergency Management Commissioner Mr Andrew Crisp, Mr Darryl Burns from Parks Victoria and Senior Sergeant Stuart Johnston from Mallacoota Police. What a great bunch of people. Thanks for visiting Mallacoota and seeing first hand the good work done on our road to recovery! It was an honour to cook for you all.

24.01.2022 Just letting you all know that Croajingolong Cafe will be open for business as usual tomorrow from 7.30am. Its been a long and difficult week but we made it through. Menu is limited due to lack of supplies. I've had a lot of requests from people wanting to donate money directly to the cafe which is super lovely but I'm telling people the funds would be better off supporting our local wildlife shelter that has been inundated with injured wildlife and Sue Johns (our carer) who herself is exhausted but doing a stella job would really appreciate your support. If you would like to donate the bank details are: S A Johns Wildlife Shelter BSB 062649 ACC: 10126146 Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement in this difficult time. Hope to see you tomorrow. Xx

24.01.2022 Heres a couple of local kids getting stuck into our beautiful waffles after a long hard morning surfing!!

23.01.2022 On a night like tonight you wouldn't be dead for quids! Happy campers enjoying our beautiful town.

23.01.2022 OMG! Ive been adopted!!! What a great initiative! A cafe in Albert Park, FED. have adopted our cafe and are selling pay it forward coffees to help support this business through these tough times. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the support we are receiving and it's really nice to know that the folks in Melbourne really want to do something to help small businesses like mine survive. Many thanks to this lovely cafe in Melbourne so if your in Albert Park go and support them. I know I'm going to give those boys a bloody big hug. Thankyou to the cafe owners David and Fraser xxx

21.01.2022 How long do you reckon it's going to take to fill up the foreshore caravan park now that Dan's given us the green light?...I'm thinking not long but let's see! Croajingolong Cafe will be open this weekend 8.30-2pm then during the school holidays Tuesday to Sunday 8.30-2.30pm. Limited menu but still plenty of options to choose from. Come on down for the best brekkies and coffee in town, see you all soon. Safe travels xxx

20.01.2022 Perfect day for leisurely breakfast/brunch. Take advantage of this glorious winter day and soak up the ray's and veiws.

19.01.2022 Many thanks to Beraldo Coffee Roasters of Melbourne. What an absolute pleasure it was to receive a box of their fine coffee beans. A box that was originally donated and choppered here in those early days after the fires, went missing in action and was replaced without hesitation by the owner Paul via mail. Long delays in the logistics of getting mail here meant we have only just received them!Thankyou so much Paul for your wonderful and generous donation and what a fantastic brew!! We feel spoiled here and thankyou Lydia Cahill for making it happen. Xx

16.01.2022 That's right folks I'm back!! Wahooooo!! Your favourite cafe is opening again this Thursday 19th Sept and even better we are open every day over the school holidays! So come on down for the best breakfasts, lunches, coffee, smoothies, milkshakes and cakes in town. See y'all here.

16.01.2022 Here's Bruce the wattle bird enjoying his cup of honey in peace before the crowds. Bruce has been frequenting the cafe for years having survived the fires and now flies into the cafe to remind me he wants a feed, poor old Bruce has been without his regular feed from here and the bakery since the pandemic and is looking a lot trimmer these days!

15.01.2022 A huge thankyou must go to all the people who have donated directly to the cafe. These funds are being used to pay forward meals and coffees to our town folk who have lost their properties. I'm knocking them off the long list one by one as they come into the cafe and they are so grateful. I've heard some incredibly sad stories and some absolutely hilarious ones too, the fire may have tried to break our spirits but it can't take away our sense of humour that we all need right ...now, so thanks for the many laughs everyone! A big thankyou has to go to Bonnie and Ferret at the butchers who managed to get UHT milk (yeah I know we had to use it) into town when supplies ran dry allowing me to continue making coffee in the early days when all roads were blocked. I still can't figure out how they did it but well done!! Heres a list of our wonderful philanthropists Susan English Elizabeth Doris Terry and Sue Michelle Gilcrest Christine Yeo Diana Vanick Helen White Rowan Rafferty and Jan Wild Claire Trowb Peter Clements Annie and Mae's Farm Gate Bill and Fran mcConnalogue Dennis and Marilyn And to anyone else I may have forgotten to mention. It's been a crazy ride but we are getting through it...together. See more

12.01.2022 Look at these special staff members who are giving up their time today to make free coffees for our visitors and locals. Great community spirit right here at the cafe. So lovely to see everyone gather and talk. We all need to talk and vent and come together as a community because we are strong and we will recover. So come in for a chat or a hug and a free coffee and cake or charge up your phone. But most importantly talk! Love to all xx

11.01.2022 Finally after 5 years my Cactus flowered! Anyway all excitement aside I'd just like to remind everyone that Croajingolong Cafe is open tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday of this long weekend for your gastronomic pleasure! Best breakfasts and coffee in town, you can bet on it!! Lol. Get it...bet on it!. It's the only thing I'll be betting on this weekend! #SayNuptotheCup #YouBetTheyDie

10.01.2022 When your having an average day and you pop down to the post office to collect your average bills only to discover a package containing the best chocolate in the world and a lovely card from a customer locked down in Melbourne sending his best wishes. Thankyou Kevin Christy! You just made my day! We'll see you soon, so close now to that green light.

10.01.2022 So tomorrow marks the beginning of the soup season. It's getting cold out there and what's a better way to warm up than a bowl of our hearty pumpkin and quince soup...thats autumn in a bowl...just like a big hug really. Unusual combination I know but we like to think out of the square and its truly delicious! Come on down

09.01.2022 Hi all. The cafe will be open Tues-Sunday 8.30am -2pm, so nearly back to normal. See you all there xx

07.01.2022 Dont forget Croajingolong Cafe is open weekends from 9am to 1pm at the moment during this covid craziness. See you all there. Xx

05.01.2022 Some people are so giving it warms my heart. We had a generous donation from a lovely lady, (Susan English) which will enable us to continue giving free coffees to the many locals who have lost everything. It's not just a coffee to them it's a big sign of support from beyond, which means a lot to us in this small community. But we are all in good spirits. The roads remain closed but it's nice to be stuck with such great community spirited people and the emergency and military service personnel that grace our town are a god send! Also a big thankyou must go to the couple who left a donation at the cafe today that I didnt get a chance to thank personally. Feeling the love

04.01.2022 Croajingolong Cafe wishes everyone a very merry and safe Christmas. We will reopen on the 27th for the best breakfasts and coffee in town. See y'all then.

04.01.2022 So I went to the supermarket and was instantly attracted to these beauty's. Never seen pears in this rosy shade. Doesn't take much to get inspired by their beauty. So I poached them in port and I'm putting them with a smoked trout citrus salad with a dill dressing. I'll post photos soon.

03.01.2022 Just gonna leave this here for some gastronomic inspiration....he..he...we are open from tomoz 7.30am to 3pm... 7 days.

03.01.2022 Croajingolong cafe will be opening tomorrow (monday) for the best breakfasts and coffee in town! Be a cool cat and mosey on down for your morning fix. See you there.

02.01.2022 So this got choppered in today. Thanks so much to the good folks at Beraldo coffee roasters in Melbourne who donated their coffee beans made possible by a lovely lady by the name of Lydia Cahill. I don't know Lydia but after reading about our plight she went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure those beans were on the next flight into our fire devastated town restoring everybody's faith in humanity. Thanks so much Lydia not just from me but from the many who have benefitted from the caffeine and conversation that has kept us all sane xx
