23.01.2022 Here's an article from the ABC about weekly exercise targets for staying healthy, with simple and easy suggestions on how we can meet them! Interesting points: - Australia's national exercise guidelines suggest 150-300 minutes of moderate intensity exercise per week. - Moderate intensity is defined as activities requiring effort but where conversation is still possible.... - Exercise with a friend for accountability. - Make walking and incidental exercise count to your goal, i.e walking to work or out to lunch. - Smaller bouts of exercises will count towards exercises goals (minimum 10mins), preferably of a higher intensity. - Strengthening exercises can be done at home not just at the gym i.e. under body weight or resistance bands. https://www.abc.net.au//whats-the-minimum-amount/10639592

13.01.2022 Complaining of constant muscle tightness, that no amount of time stretching or foam rolling can ease? This might be because=> a TIGHT muscle is typically a WEAK muscle. It might be time for some strengthening exercises to target those problem areas, if regular stretching, foam rolling or massage isn't changing that tight feeling.... Many strengthening exercises can be completed in the comfort of your own home, and easily incorporated as part of your daily routine. If you are after ideas of what exercises you can do to limit persistent muscle tightness, we are happy to help! Photo: Pexels

A recent trial asked this question, and they found the following for people suffering from acute low back pain: - Prolonged Sitting (>6hours) and stress were triggers to flare-ups.... - Physical therapy was a deterrent to flare ups.
