20.01.2022 Stuff can be seen through many lenses People are brought up in different ways and beliefs and thoughts have been instilled for many different reasons Many will fight tooth and nail for those beliefs to be true ... What are wrong and right? I believe neither What I do believe is if that belief hasn’t gotten you the result you’re after then that belief must be discussed and shed a new lens of perspective Take a kid for example, his whole life he has been brought up take out food and a sedentary lifestyle of tv and gaming, which is all he knows He grows up and builds up enough courage to reach out for help to kick his old habits to the past and build new ones for a better lifestyle But when we dig deep, we find things like it’s my parents fault, or it’s genetic or I am big boned Then we shift the lens and ask, have those current beliefs got you the result you’ve wanted, to lose the old habits and to build new ones moving forward? These days the mind can really take over, you can get stuck living in the past, or stuck worrying about the future. It is so rare and so hard, to actually have peace and live in the moment. Being present in the moment means soaking in everything that is going on RIGHT NOW, focusing on the task at hand, feeling the energy you are putting out, feeling the weather, noticing what is around you, etc. CrossFit is one of the best ways to do this. 08.01.2022 One thing that I’ve noticed over the last 8 or so years of CrossFit is: The initial motive is weight loss, muscle gain, get motivation etc etc But then it evolves into something more special ... It turns into this 1 hour of the day is my best and most important hour because it sets me up for the rest of day or it’s the thing at the end of the day that I look forward to That 1 hour makes me a better partner, a better parent, better at my career, better on my surf board and better at life The one hour I know I can give just to myself The 1 hour where I can achieve a new skill, improve on something and take that home with me That one hour where I know my workout buddies will cheer me on, call out my name mid workout and have my back The one hour of the day where I can be myself and forget about the rest of the world The evolution is magical #1hour #magic #evolution #goals #family #crossfit #friends #givetoyourself See more
