21.01.2022 Two big thumbs up to our Teens yesterday, easing back into it with some station work. They definitely haven't lost any of there competitiveness during lockdown. Finishing off with 2 rounds of the agility circuit, it soon turned into 4 as they kept trying to beat their own times and each other. So good to have you guys back in!!

14.01.2022 'It's been hard work but when I compare these 2 pics, I wouldn't change a thing!!' Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing? 'I wouldn't change a thing.'... That was, until I realised just how obsessed I had become with my weight. My headspace was the most warped thing for a very long time... I actually couldn't function normally because everything was scales and food. I'd weigh myself at least 10 times a day which was ridiculous. I would panic, literally sending myself into a mass of anxiety if the scale went up even 100g. I was overtraining, sometimes up to 10 sessions a week, then running on top of it. I would hate to know what my cortisol levels were like. I got rid of the scales and moved forward. I know what its like to be extremely overweight... how simply getting up off the couch was hard, let alone going for a walk. I also know what its like to be at the other end. I went from one extreme to the other and didn't know how to deal with it. I was riding a wave of high and lows that was fueled by the words of others. Accolades and fb thumbs up's were my driving force... it can become a very dangerous downhill slope. I kept trying to convince myself I was happy but truly, I wasn't. You have to know your why. You have to be at peace inside. You have to understand that change, physically and mentally takes so much time. You can't rush and you have to be patient with yourself because you are undoing years of negative self talk and learned behaviour. Do it for the right reasons. Change your priorities. Practice gratitude, mindfulness and empathy along the way. When those start to fall in line, so does everything else... your head space, your nutrition, your fitness... then ultimately self love and happiness. Sounds kind of corny right? I'm around 10kgs heavier (lean muscle and yep, those 'covid kilos') than the pic on the right but I cannot begin to tell you how much happier I am. I journal, take time out for myself, sleep more... without the obsession and stress of a scale. Your choices have to be life long sustainable... not some short fix that sends you over the top and spiralling further. What would I change? We put so much pressure on ourselves to be more, thinking people will judge us if we don't... I would give myself permission to breathe. Happy Sunday Coach Tan

Circumstance, surroundings, habits, hereditary, cheat days, portion size, emotional, laziness...are all things that get thrown around... the list goes on but ultimately, the onus is on you to choose the right things. Perhaps they've spent the last term more infatuated with their Play Station or attached to their phone? Over the holidays, TEENS sessions are back! An 11.30am start means they can still get their sleep in , then you can drop them off, head out do your shopping or grab a coffee... ... We've had so many parents asking because their teens need an outlet to get active. It will be a 45 minute session with light kettle bells, cardio and body weight movements. Booking is essential as the sessions are capped at 10 kids ONLY. When: Monday 21st and 28th Wednesday 23rd and 30th Time: 11.30am $15 each or 4 sessions for $50. 02.01.2022 Wellness comes in many forms. This weekend, I decided that I needed to get away, to reset before I completely hit a wall. So I closed the gym.... It was actually an easier decision than I thought it would be. Not only did I need a rest but a couple of weeks in and 3-4 sessions a week, you needed a rest too. Since Covid, it has been hectic. I've crammed more hours into my week than possible. This morning, I still got up early, headed to the lookout and journalled... coffee in my hand and waves crashing around me. It was the best. Some much needed me time before I spend the weekend with my fam. So, my phone will be off for work. If you need me, shoot me a message and I'll get back to you Sunday or Monday.
