There is the excitement of meeting up with friends, maybe some nervousness walking through the door, a sense of ease as you casually chat or stretch before class. ... The class flow is the same, but the workout is different, so athough there is a coach to guide you, there is always a certain amount of courage needed to take that step into the unknown. Building confidence each time. 15.01.2022 A strong core is a big focus to moving well and lifting heavy weights. The hollow hold is not just great for building core stability, it is a great way to bring awareness to how to hold a stable and strong core when lifting, squating or doing other gymnastic movement. For the hollow hold on the floor, lay on your back and lift your legs and arms up, then you need to lift your shoulder blades off the floor and push your belly button down towards your spine. This draws your r...ibcage down towards your hips and takes the arch our of your back. You can make this a little easier by bending your legs and raising your arms high or holding them up beside you. Now try standing up straight with your hands on your hips, pulling your ribcage down bracing your core and taking the arch out of your back. As you tense and release pay particular attention to how your hips tilt back and forth while doing this. Next time you go to squat, lift, do a push up or strict pull, brace your core in this way and see how much stronger you feel. You could even practice while doing every day things like while pushing the shopping trolley. Just be careful not to do to many hip tilts standing in line at the checkout. He had to wait a few years but when CrossFit CT opened he was straight in and has made his presence felt from the start. His hard work has now been rewarded with his CrossFit L1 certificate and has become an important part of our coaching team.
