We pride ourselves on our ability as coaches to be able to cue, spot faults in movement patterns, detect postural abnormalities and help provide the tools to improve these issues. The deadlift- picking something of the ground. Simple right ? it might be heavy maybe moderate maybe even light. Its how you pick it up, we consistently program this exercise with lots of different variations to implement head to toe strength. Our members are then able to implement the proper functionality of this movement in to their everyday life.

13.01.2022 CALS FOR OUR COUNTRY: KANGAROO ISLAND FIRE FUNDRAISER. We had a great turnout this morning raising funds for the communities who have been impacted by the fires in Kangaroo Island. Our donation will be made directly to Kangaroo Island Mayoral Relief and Recovery Bushfire Fund who will use 100% of this money towards businesses, homes, and property lost.... CrossFit Eyre dedicated 8am-10am this morning for anyone to jump on a bike or rower to accumulate as many calories as possible. We had 75+ attendees putting forward a $20 entry. Working in teams, partners, or slogging it out alone. A further $20 was donated by CrossFit Eyre every 1000 calories reached. We had the kids involved, parents, our Legends members, other gym goers, SAAS staff and people from the general public attend. What a great turnout! Thankyou to all that have put forward money online that couldnt attend. E.P Wool have put forward a large sum to the cause so thankyou to Brodie and the crew. Thanks Kym Roach for bringing down your rower from home to help push forward the numbers. Thanks Saraid Tomlinson for your early morning stretch session to prep people before the 2 hours period, also Maeve and Evelyn for selling lemonade on the side to make a few extra dollars as well. Im sure everyone feels the same, its humbling to know we can back our neighbours through a tough time. Respects go to everyone involved! A total amount will be finalised and announced by next week!

Worked 46 years as a Gov Valuer, mostly in SA with a stint in Jakarta, Indonesia. Married (50 years in 2021). 3 adult children, 6 grandkids (5 girls,1 boy). Now retired. Hobbies include: Bonsai, gardening, fishing and collecting. ... How many sessions do you attend weekly? Mostly 2. But 3 if I can fit it in. Other days I walk or workout at home. Looking back from when you first started Crossfit until now, what would you say is your biggest accomplishment? I’ve only been attending 5-6 months but I’ve built-up core strength and consolidated on weight loss which I had achieved since January 2020. (114kg down to 92kg) How would you describe the environment at CrossFit Eyre? Very Friendly. Both staff and fellow members all get on very well and encourage each other. What do you wish to gain from your experience at CrossFit Eyre? Having been in a sedentary office or car situation for the majority of my adult life, I now wish to maintain a degree of fitness as long as I can. What challenges you? My age is my biggest challenge. At 71 years of age I’ve left it a little late to realise the importance of fitness and exercise. I have some issues with the mobility of my shoulder which was injured some years ago and never properly mended. What motivates you to work hard? I want to do a bit more traveling, especially back to Malaysia where I lived as a kid and still have many fond memories and friends. I also want to be able to enjoy doing things with my grandchildren. What would you say to someone who has never done Crossfit before? I would tell them that the sessions are designed to your level of fitness and that all the trainers are aware of all their clients abilities and limitations but encourage us all to do our best.
