22.01.2022 ACCOUNTABILITY Knowing the importance of accountability is half the battle when it comes to reaching your goals - whatever they maybe! Once you know why accountability is important - you realise that it takes more than effort to reach your goals. The benefits of accountability include increase motivation and information actions. Once you understand, doing the workouts, following the meal plan and what you may find difficult at first soon becomes a breeze! ... Having goals help you aim your plan towards YOUR success - one thing I say time and time again is that your fitness is a life long commitment. There is no one real goal when it comes to health and is comes under an umbrella of your personal health goals. Weight loss for example, you get to your desired weight by having goals and keeping to your plan - but then what happens with that? Its important to remember that hurdles, and progress are continuous so adapting your goals and having plans that can accommodate to your lifestyle is key! For example - when you reach a life time PR, its not a case of just stopping. You have to have a plan to continue to improve. Your next step could be hitting it again, with better technique! One of the most impactful skills is self-discipline. Now, if youre saying to yourself, I didnt realize self-discipline is a skill. youre not alone. But its true. Just like you can get better at skills like muscle-ups, speaking a new language, or cooking, you can become more disciplined.... Why is Self-Discipline Important? Discipline drives your ability to create a healthy habit. Its what can step in to help you on days when youre not motivated or excited to go work out. When your alarm goes off at 5am, and you just want to go back to bed, discipline is the voice inside your head that says, Get up. Or lets say you walk into the gym and see all your least favorite movements on the board. Rather than phoning it in, you tell yourself youre going to suck it up and do the best you can. Thats discipline. Discipline vs. Motivation Discipline is how you get stuff done. Its how you accomplish goals and get results. And its not the same as motivation. Motivation has its place in a workout routine. Its a great feeling to be motivated and ready to conquer all your goals. Motivation might be what you needed to get started, but the problem is that its not a constant. From all of our beginners right across to our experienced athletes. Many of our coaches work months, and years to build trust with our athletes because they know that trust yields results.... Having trust that your coach knows the best for you, and will source the correct information if they dont. Coaching is always an ever changing and learning job, everyone is different therefore coaching is different between every athlete. Trust is a two way street, coaches trust that you will speak up if a movement doesnt feel great, if you feel sore, if you feel overwhelmed with a workout. You must build a relationship, to become the best version of yourself through building the trust between you and your coaches.
