13.01.2022 We are super excited to announce we will be officially commencing the PRVN Affiliate Program from Monday, 1st February. Created by Shane Orr, coach of 4x Crossfit Games Champion, fellow Aussie, and Olympian, Tia Clair Toomey. We believe that PRVN Affiliate Programming will be a perfect fit for our box. It is full of skills, strength, accessories along with the CrossFit metcons we all know and love How do we know it is right for the HAAPU community??... Each session outlines the goals for the day as well as providing specific guidance and technique points of performance for the session. As always at HAAPU, our focus remains on movement proficiency as the foundation of everything we do. We understand that each of you have your own personal goals and desired outcomes, and believe this program provides the tools to allow you to achieve those. The team at CF HAAPU will oversee the programming and customize it for our athletes whenever required. Our focus is to assist all athletes of any ability to not only continue to gain skills and fitness but to love the workouts as well. The programming has been created comprehensively and creatively by an experienced team of successful athletes and coaches. This current cycle has a variety of workout time domains, loadings to get you feeling primed and ready to go for the open, come March 11th. Additionally, there is also suggested mobility and accessory extra’s daily, which will be integrated into the class (if time allows) otherwise you may choose to complete outside of class. 05.01.2022 SHOULDER CARs.. What is it and why do we include these in our activation warm ups and prehab @crossfit_haapu Controlled Articular Rotations (CARS) utilises active rotation movements at outer limits of motion of each individual joint in order to stimulate articular adaptations.... These movements help to identify current movement limitations and prepare the body for more complex neurological movements. The shoulder is a great example.. The joint capsule has a high number of receptors that detect movement. They are the first type of tissue to perceive motion and provide valuable feedback to the brain on how that joint is moving. Today’s session required everyone to reach end range of overhead flexion in movements such as overhead squats and snatches. It is necessary to have good mobility; being in control through these ranges of motion, rather than flexibility and uncontrolled range of motion. By maximising the capsular activation, we aim to improve neural training and control of motion before moving on to add further load to a movement.
