21.01.2022 It’s this legends birthday today Many of you guys would have seen this awesome chick on the sidelines at the gym working on her rehab exercises nearly every day after major surgery on her knee. Ash has been relentless in her pursuit to get better and still has obstacles ahead to achieve what she wants, but we have no doubt she will smash them. 19.01.2022 Happiness is in the journey, not the destination Q. How do you become a healthy individual? A. You find something that you enjoy, you create a routine, work hard and you do all of this while you’re around people that make you happy ... ................... It seems to be a cloudy, misinterpreted question that most people are struggling with when it comes to health and fitness. There are too many programs, too many diets and to many experts to follow. When really, it just comes down to finding something that you enjoy doing, day in and day out. This makes it easy to create a routine because you are having fun while working out. If it’s a chore, change it up. Guess what? You have a choice on how your day looks, you have a choice on what you do to become healthier, so do something that you enjoy, do something that adds to your day, not subtracts from it. We honestly can’t stress this enough, we are sick of seeing people slog away at things they don’t want to do, but someone has told them they should. That’s never going to work and you will always come up short and disappointed when you don’t reach your goals. It’s actually quite remarkable to think that everyone right now is taking steps to make themselves healthier For many people it can just be isolating, but now could be the chance to change things up a little. A positive mindset could be the difference between waking up feeling energised and ready for the world, whatever it may bring us today, or feeling sluggish and defeated before you ...even start Eating better is a perfect way to change some habits, and it’s just eating better, not eating perfect. Try and be better than you have been in the past, choose more veges and try and snack less Exercise often could be go for a walk or if you aren’t allowed out, get out in the backyard in some sun and do some squats and pushups Feel good will be the outcome, feel better about yourself, every little change you make now will make all the difference to your future. From the bushfires that started us off, quickly followed by Covid that is seeing us off - it has been a very turbulent year and despite a bunch of horrible things happening, we are confident that we have learnt to adapt and are absorbing valuable life lessons along the way Thank you to all that have stuck by us and continued becoming the strongest versions of yourselves amidst this global pandemic - you guys are the real MVP’s and have made a huge difference in the way we do things ‘round ‘ere. 08.01.2022 The feels are real It sucks not being at the gym, we know! Hijacked HQ is a place that brings people from all walks of life together to achieve their goals. We stand strong individually, but equally just as powerful as a team. ... The place we call OUR gym can be the best part of our days, it can signal the space between work and home for some that need to switch off from their day before they get home, or it can be the go button for the guys that train at 0600 and attack their day from then The fitness gained is like a secondary benefit along side the mental health and human connections that we see flourish in the gym. We are all missing that at the moment, but we are staying strong and ready for the day that we open back up. 04.01.2022 Sometimes people want that quick fix or magic pill to fix everything. Well guess what? It doesn’t exist. What does exist, is changing your daily habits, creating routines that serve a better purpose for you and the people around you and choosing to opt in and play the game of life to the best of your ability. We got tagged in this awesome post by one of our founding members at Hijacked, he has moved to Sydney and is still pursuing the strongest version of himself every day ...at another awesome CF box. It’s easy to scroll through the Facebook ads and look at all these ripped trainers claiming they have the program to get you shredded like Hugh Jackman in 3 months or the ones that claim they have a unique approach that apparently no one else is doing. We call bull$hit It takes work to change, change your mindset, change your idea of working out from a chore to and enjoyable experience and a progression to get better. This guy right here has nailed it, he has changed the future for the better. He has chosen to become the strongest version of himself and never settle for anything less. Scott Brice you are a legend. 03.01.2022 Pretty straight forward really! Don’t get soft over this time without the gym being open. Don’t just sit around and have all the excuses why you didn’t train, when realistically the reason you CHOSE not to train is because you didn’t have the coach or the other members pushing you to do it. It’s not about going out and being a beast everyday and smashing WOD times or breaking records on your runs, but it is about consciously making an effort towards your health and fitness.... CHOOSING to pick up that kettlebell or do those burpees and get the heart rate up and endorphins flowing. Yeah, it’s hard. Guess what? It’s hard for everyone, it’s hard whether you are in the gym or at home, it’s hard whether you are a world class athlete or an overweight dad that hasn’t trained in 10 years. That’s the point!! It’s meant to be hard. It’s small consistent doses of stress inoculation that causes growth, growth in all aspects of life.
