24.01.2022 ..SOMETHING TO SHARE SUNDAY.. How was the weather this weekend?! Mother Nature REALLY turned it on for us! It’s this type of weather that gets us out of the house with friends and family, gets the ol’ lily whites out from the trackie dacks into shorts and skirts, and gets us into outdoor activities.....cause that’s where the real fun is!... Getting the kids AND adults off the devices can be tough, BUT when you’ve got the sun shining, the birds chirping and a gentle breeze rustling the leaves, it’s like a force field that you can’t deny!! It’s kinda also the time where we go, ‘OK pal, time to get your health sorted so you feel great for the warmer months ahead.’ Here’s some of our CFI family getting out and making the most of the beautiful weather this weekend. 20.01.2022 ..SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT SUNDAY.. ...........O.G........... What is it and why is it the coolest place to be? (Apart from the 5am class) ... O.G is Open Gym. This is the time our Community to use for; When you can’t get to one of the classes booked, you can head in and do the WORKOUT in The Open Gym. When you like the workout from a day that you can’t get to the box, you use the OG on another day. And our favourite, when you want to work on a movement that you want to get better at or learn how to move correctly with. Open Gym at Crossfit Indulge means that there is ALWAYS a Coach there. Having a Coach there is such a bonus. If there is a movement that you’re not sure on, they can help you with it, talk about scalings and work through the movement with you. The CFI family had a TRI-ing time this weekend!!!Boom-Tish On the Saturday @freezinghotcrossfit hosted a long awaited the Crossfit Comp Tri-Fit where 18 of our family members went in and gave 110% and represented us proudly. We showed stamina, technique, and our cheer squad was next to none. Super proud of each and every Crossfit Indulge Athlete.... And on Sunday morning 10 of our members got up nice and early and popped their Triathlon Cherry, at @maitlandtriclub The photos say it all. Smiles all round! Slightly different training to the box, but that didn’t deter these guy and gals. And there was even talk of doing it again....without the mounting bike. Solid effort from everyone this weekend! 19.01.2022 ..SOMETHING TO SHARE SUNDAY.. Yesterday 2 of our Coaches Brenton and Joel participated in a 35km course consisting of Trail Running , Mountain Biking and Kayaking. This was held down at the Blue Mountains. How’s that for serenity?! ... Not sure they felt the serenity whilst doing it, but we’re happy to say they reported back saying ’It was good fun, plenty of laughs and we learnt a lot. Would definitely recommend it.’ And another quote from one of the Coaches mouths ‘And Sore AF today ‘ We wanted to share this to show our Coaches getting out there and doing activities that are outside the square/box, challenge them both mentally and physically and show they’re still learning. Crossfit is an excellent sport to support any other sport or activities that you may do or want to do. It doesn’t HAVE to be the ONLY thing you do, but it certainly helps build your physical and mental stamina to push yourself out of your comfort zone. 19.01.2022 MEET AIMEE ELY. @aimeeely333 became part of the CFI Family long before she actually started working out here. Her husband was a member and Aimee was pregnant with their second beautiful girl. Aimee supported him from the sidelines and then one day...POP! Out came a baby and in came Aimee ready to kick her own arse doing Crossfit. And kick she has done. Aimee has worked hard and it’s paid off with her ticking Bar Muscle Ups off just Y...ESTERDAY!! Showing us all that hard work, focus and determination pays off Here are Aimee’s answers word for word. 1How long have you been a member of CFI? Almost 18months :) 2Favourite workout or movement? Also least favourite movement? Love Muscle Ups and Handstand Push Ups (even though I have not yet mastered them - they are so fun!). Least favourite is Dubs :/ 3 What’s one myth about CrossFit you thought was true until you tried it? That it was a cult hahahahaha - being in the fitness industry for over 11 years and it took this long to take the plunge! Hahaha DEFINITELY NOT A CULT - but definitely a community- a family :) 4 Do you have any goals? Inside or outside of the gym? I would love to be confident enough to compete one day but my main goal is to continue to improve and be a great strong role model for my two little girls :) 5How does CFI work for you? (E.g. around work, family etc) Works perfectly for me - the play area helps when I need to bring my little ones as well as all they help I have got from the CFI Family since I started with a newborn and a toddler! (So incredibly greatful) plus, with the amount of classes to choose from, I can always slot into a time that suits around work! 6 Do you have any advice for someone who wants to try CrossFit? It is with the heaviest of hearts that we are writing to let everyone who follows Crossfit Indulge know that our very own HERO, Aims, lost her battle with cancer on Friday night. We are truly devastated by this. Aims kicked cancers arse for 2.8 years. She outlived what they predicted and put it down to being a Crossfitter. Keeping her moving and active for as long as her body allowed her to. Hell, this chick was even doing WOD’s with Ch...emo attached to her!! There was so much to this woman that made her as amazing as she was. She was a beautiful mother of two equally as beautiful children. She was the most loving wife to an equally loving husband. She was able to fulfil her life long dream of becoming a Police Officer for NSW Police. She was kind, thoughtful, funny, optimistic, honest, humble and so much more. Aims daughter and husband were beside her right until the end, letting her know that she was loved so very very much. Aims, you are one of the strongest people who have ever touched our lives. Thank you for letting us be apart of your life. You have made each and everyone of us look at life a little differently and for that we will be forever grateful. 13.01.2022 ..SOMETHING TO SHARE SUNDAY.. We want nothing more than our BOX to be a community. Once you’ve been a part of the Crossfit Indulge family, you will forever be a part of our Crossfit Indulge family. We received this message on our Crossfit Indulge Members Page from one of our beautiful, hard working and VERY determined family members;... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Exactly a month ago, I took the plunge and joined my first ever CrossFit session. I was so anxious and couldn't sleep the night leading to it as I was sure I wouldn't fit in and would feel out of place. I was dead wrong! Everybody's been really welcoming, helpful & encouraging! I looked around in awe as I witness all these great athletes doing their thing - I found my inspiration! I knew it will entail a lot of hard work, persistence and dedication before I get to their level but those are the exact things I am willing to commit to my new-found love. A couple of the most memorable things that had happened to me when I started: Day 1 - bar muscle-ups was out of the question but I got to hang for 5 looong seconds!! Wallballs - the ball loved me so much it kept on giving me kisses on the face Day 2 - I was happy to be spared from all the running due to my plantar fasciitis but little did I know I was going to be rowing 1,600m in 9 mins, twice! I think it became too obvious I felt like dying then as Adam tried to be supportive and told me to go to my "happy place". Geez! That place was difficult to find when you're trying to breathe through your ears too! Fast forward to today - I've been consistently going at least 4x a week and have no plans of slowing down anytime soon. From just hanging on a bar, I can now do knees to chest. And I am now choosing to run (you never know what it will cost you if you chose not to. Haha!). So basically, I CrossFit because: 1) It pushes me to become the best version of myself; 2) It makes me happy - it completes my day; 3) I love the community - I've made new friends who are just amazing (thanks guys ); 4) I was told (by some people) I couldn't do it as it's "too hard" - but I am proving them wrong - I am still here and going strong! 5) I FINALLY FOUND MY HAPPY PLACE I've never been more proud of having bruised shoulders and collarbone, and beautifully-calloused hands (ofcourse!) We want to share it on here so it can be SPREAD IT FAR AND WIDE, and get as many of our followers to support a family that is nearest and dearest to us. Over the past couple of years I can proudly say that I got to become really close with Aims and her family. Sadly, Aimee lost her battle with cancer a little over a month ago. She kicked cancer’s ass for nearly 3 years, far longer than anyone could have ever anticipated. 08.01.2022 What’s Your WINE Wednesday It’s still a WHY but it’s with a little bit of laughter, relaxation and art involved. Our WHY is the community that we have. On the weekend a group of our Crossfit Ladies got together and did an Art Class! One of the ladies put the message out, inviting our members and their friends/families to join us on our Members Page and got an awesome response!... We learn that some of the ladies can’t listen to the technique as much as they do in the gym, and some of them needed to be shown one on one how to do specific parts, some us SMASHED it and some of them continued to swear when they stuffed up...just like they do at the box.. But each and everyone of them nailed it..some for their bedroom wall....others to be sold at Go-Lo. 07.01.2022 MEET HEATH. The moment Heath joined CFI, he was immediately apart of the fam. He bought along his beautiful wife and the both dove pretty much, straight into the 2020 Crossfit OPEN.... Being a family man, with another on the way, he makes his fitness a priority and uses the classes available to ensure there is a happy balance of family/CFI/fun/work. Here are Heath’s answers word for word. 1How long have you been a member of CFI? Just over 12 months. One of the best years so far! 2Favourite workout or movement? Also least favourite movement? Favourite Movement-deadlifts or squat/power clean and heavy! Least Favourite.... assault bike and burpees.... nasty 3 What’s one myth about CrossFit you thought was true until you tried it? Thought you had to workout shirt less... only found out it’s just vince this applies only 4 Do you have any goals? Inside or outside of the gym? Gym goals.. muscle up eventually. Just become more consistent and push myself. Don’t take the easy option Outside get that life balance between work /gym / social life. This Hero WOD is in memory of Lieutenant Michael Murphy who died in the line of duty, serving his country in Afghanistan in 2005.... Being a tough workout mentally and physically for your Average Joe, we did an Aussie Hero WOD on Remembrance Day and gave ourselves a bit more time and the opportunity for all of our members to actually finish the WOD RXD or Scaled.
