20.01.2022 This was an unlucky problem that could have been worse. The bolt holding the front pulley on this Street 500 broke, but it was held in place by the plastic cover, therefore the pulley didn't come right off. The belt ground away on the frame but didn't break, so a new bolt with some Loctite and away she goes #canwefixit #crotchrocketmotorcycles #harleydavidson #broken #lucky

A bit of grit holding the float needle open can end with an empty fuel tank and an engine full of fuel...I got about 10 litres of fluid out of the sump of this CBR1000...at least it should be clean! #crotchrocketmotorcycles #canwefixit #motorcycle #fuel #ishootpix

15.01.2022 It's a bit hard to see here, but this fuel pump was repaired by the owner a little while back to save a few bucks...who can blame him? However, this needs to supply fuel to an EFI system, therefore it has high fuel pressure...so the internals need to be up to the task...this repair used a hose that was a bit soft (no double thickness, with fibreglass braid between layers) and under pressure would swell and stretch, allowing it to work it's way loose and 'popped' off when he hit a bump, causing the bike to stop instantly. Anyhow the moral of the story is that some things are made a particular way to do a certain job and sometimes for reliability only genuine parts should be used... just saying, it could save you a long walk home! #crotchrocketmotorcycles #canwefixit #motorcyle #repairs #autoelectrics #fuelinjection

12.01.2022 This folks, is the result of not riding your bike for prolonged periods...98 octane fuel seems to be more corrosive when it goes off... you can tell by the smell, it's like old paint. The down side is a new fuel pump will set you back a packet and the inside of your fuel tank will be all rusty too. 04.01.2022 Can't stress enough the need for good quality connections throughout your bikes electrical system...not quite there with this one! The battery connection here is the incorrect hole size for the battery terminal which may cause it come loose, as well as being the wrong size for the cable and we can see how poor the crimp is. The small wire should be twisted together with the main cable and crimped tightly together in the right sized terminal.
