21.01.2022 Well I certainly won’t feel the same doing my groceries now! How’s this for a championship - not sure what’s amazed me more / the speed and memory of the price of each item OR the total price back then for $17.74 - that would be around $80 nowadays!

21.01.2022 With news officially announcing we are back in a recession - I pondered on how and what to share in light of the many blows our fellow business owners and leaders alike have taken in this year. Between bushfires, political unrest, global pandemic, drought and the list continues (sadly) culture in any sized organisation needs a giant hug and a shake up. There is no "back to how we were" these are new times, in fact thats the sweet and sour component to culture - its an ever ...moving beast and as we know - throwing a ping pong table in the corner of the room is not arriving at culture. However in these uncertain times and with this uncertainty its even more important to ensure we place respect, time and energy into ensuring our culture is of the utmost importance. How do we bounce ahead and pave ways forward - well, I thought to take a look at some articles relative to this environment from previously hard times felt in the business world. Given the space we excel in is predominately sales based, many clients feel that receiving a decline, a knock back, rejection is failure. We see it as an opportunity to gain valued feedback, better understand the clients needs, pain points and demand for your offering. ... Did you genuinely listen to their needs and meet them with a resolution with your offering OR just sell to them in a cookie cutter manner? Did you offer them a proposal or quote at the right timing in their cycle / week / day? How well do you know their calendar? Gosh there is so much at stake and each business and in turn, their client, is unique so to attack growth without a strategy and methodology is perhaps why you’re not meeting those targets or increasing revenue.

As someone who is perpetually sparkling, a source of optimism for those seeking it, I’m often called upon to encourage others out of these shit moments and asked how I deal with them.... First step is recognizing them and then being absolutely OK with calling out the shit.
