11.01.2022 Do we need Parkrun in Crows Nest? If you are interested, reply to this post. A healthier, happier planet parkrun started back in 2004 when 13 runners got together on a blustery day in Bushy Park, Teddington, UK. We’re now an international family of over 3 million parkrunners (and counting).... About parkrun parkrun is such a simple concept: turn up every Saturday and walk, jog or run 5k, or if you’re a junior then 2k every Sunday. You can also volunteer in numerous different roles too! It doesn’t matter how fast you go. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing. What matters is taking part. There are now parkrun events each Saturday and Sunday in 20 countries all around the world. All events are organised by a group of wonderful, dedicated, local volunteers our hi-vis heroes! See https://www.parkrun.com/ A possible route for Crows Nest:

04.01.2022 Name confusion. Some of the early fire reports created confusion because they did not use accurate place names, e.g. the Pechey fire, which would have been better described as the Grapetree fire. The confusion has not been helped by wrong names in Google Maps which shows Ravensbourne Dip Road as McErlean Road. The Toowoomba Regional Council map https://maps.tr.qld.gov.au/WAB/Property/ shows McErlean Road as a very small segment off Post Office Road west of the Scientific Area. Most of McErlean Road in Google iis Ravensbourne Dip Road. Please try to get Google to correct this - I have tried a number of times over the last couple of years, without success. Use the last entry "send feedback" on the dropdown menu at the left of Google Maps.
