25.01.2022 Good evening everyone, As many of you would be aware, Netball Victoria have set out some guidelines for a ‘Return to Netball’. These guidelines are extensive and outline the many tasks that we would need to implement and co-ordinate to enable training to re-commence safely. Discussing these guidelines in depth and taking into consideration many factors, the Croydon Hills Netball Club Committee have decided that we will hold off and not return to training just yet. The factors... we considered alongside the Netball Victoria guidelines included our club size, venue availability, current government advice regarding COVID-19 and our overall ability to ensure the health, safety and well-being of all players and families at this stage of the pandemic. Whilst we are very much looking forward to a return to training and netball, the committee will await further advice and guidance from Netball Victoria and updated information from LYVNA, including a start date for the season. The club is keen to move forward once we have a competition start date. In the mean time we have attached some interactive online resources available for you to use. We very much encourage you to do some training at home and to keep up your fitness and skills during this time. Thank you for being so patient and please understand it is a huge decision for any club to make. 23.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT - Please Read - LYVNA Season Update*** Good morning everyone As you may have been aware, all clubs met with the LYVNA Committee this morning to discuss all options available to us for the coming weeks and season ahead.... Many different logistical alternatives were discussed, however it has been decided that it will be in the best interest for all, for the season to be postponed until after the school holidays and Anzac Day weekend. This allows everyone enough time to see how this virus takes it course and make further decisions as necessary. We hope that taking action early and shutting down the possibility of large crowds of over 500 in the first instance, this may assist in preventing the spread early. The season will now commence on Saturday 2nd May The season will still run for the full 20 weeks at this stage including the initial three weeks of grading games and finals at the end. Grand Final Day and therefore Presentation Night as a result, have at this stage been pushed back until Sat 21st November. Finals are scheduled to commence after the Melbourne Cup Day weekend. For those that have booked holidays over this period please advise your coaches as soon as you can so they can plan and prepare in advance re finals. As a consequence of the season being pushed back, to facilitate both a full winter season and still allow a few weeks buffer incase we need to push the season back further, the Spring Season will not be going ahead this year. LYVNA will update their calendar shortly as will we. Training at this stage will still continue as normal. We may also try to organise some scratch games with another local club if we have interest. If however you do not want your children attending training, please notify your coaches in advance. We do appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter. It is clearly an evolving and dynamically changing situation that none of us have dealt with before. Please email us on the club email or contact your coaches with any further questions. I will continue to post updates as I receive them. Regards Kylie Van Roosmalen and the CHNC Committee

17.01.2022 For anyone who didn't see it, LYVNA and Netball Victoria sent out a season update a couple of weeks ago. The new earliest start date is May 31, but obviously that is subject (and likely) to change. They hope to have another update towards the end of April. From LYVNA: ===========... Hi all, Following the most recent Coronavirus recommendations from Netball Victoria, the Lilydale and Yarra Valley Netball executive committee wish to inform everyone that the start of our Winter 2020 season will now be delayed until after 31st May. Our previous start date of May 2nd was pending the latest advice and further delays were possible. All other netball events including our tournaments, school holiday clinics and Rep training will also be postponed or cancelled until after 31st May. We are recommending all clubs cancel training and other events until this date. Rest assured that our committee will be doing everything we can to ensure the earliest possible start of the season but given the fluid environment we live in at the moment, we cannot commit to any further details or dates. We hope to provide an update towards the end of April. In the meantime, there are many online resources for keeping netball active including Netball Victoria, thenetballcoach.com and netfitnetball.com.au. Now’s a great time to update your coaching and umpiring accreditation details. From all of us at the Lilydale and Yarra Valley Netball committee, we wish everyone the best over the coming months and hopefully we will see you all soon. Cheers, Simon Grimes Lilydale and Yarra Valley Netball Association 0434 434 117 [email protected] www.lyvna.com.au

12.01.2022 Message from Netball Victoria via LYVNA.

11.01.2022 **COVID-19 advice re games tomorrow* Good Morning Everyone Please read the following message from LYVNA and the link within it to Netball Victoria.... At this stage all games are still going ahead, however we will keep you updated if this changes as the day goes on. If you do not however wish to have your children participate this weekend, can you please contact your coaches this evening so we can come up with a plan for the team tomorrow. Regards Kylie Van Roosmalen and CHNC Committee ---------------------------------------------- Dear Clubs, We have received the following statement from Netball Victoria regarding COVID-19 https://vic.netball.com.au//netball-victoria-statement-cov Some points to note; Until further directives from the State Government of Victoria in relation to group gatherings due to COVID-19 concerns are received, Saturday netball and all other netball events will be going ahead as planned. Everyone should practice good hygiene to protect against infections. Good hygiene habits include: - washing your hands often with soap and water; - using a tissue and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze; - avoiding close contact with anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Please stay home if you or your child is unwell. We also wanted to reassure you that in the current environment if you feel uncomfortable shaking hands with your opposition at the end of a game, there are plenty of other ways to display sportsmanship and gratitude at the end of a game; such as a verbal congratulations. If your team wishes to not shake hands then please attempt to let the opposition coach know so they can let their players know. We don’t want any awkward moments with little girls left hanging with their hands out Looking forward to seeing you all for a great first round. Cheers, Simon Grimes Lilydale and Yarra Valley Netball Association 0434 434 117 [email protected] www.lyvna.com.au

02.01.2022 **Refund of Club Fees to our Members** Good Morning everyone Hope you are all staying safe during this time. ... LYVNA have contacted all clubs with their position moving forward and offering either full refunds or the choice to roll our fees over to the new season. We as a club committee have decided to ask for a refund and forward the club fee back to our members. Members will be contacted individually via email in regards to refunds. We will not be supplying any further information or answering any questions via Facebook or social media in relation to this. Please contact the club email directly with any further questions or personal discussions required in relation to refunds. We will then start fresh with whatever COVID and the immediate future of netball brings, with any upcoming Spring or new year Winter season. Netball Vic will announce their position on the insurance component of your fees in October. Being such a large club it will be quite a task for Trish our Treasurer to refund all our fees, so again I thank you all for being so patient through this crisis. Stay Safe Kind Regards Kylie Van Roosmalen and your CHNC Committee

The committee will be meeting the first week back to formulate a plan of what will happen from there moving forward and will update you again closer to that time.
