20.01.2022 I know it’s getting to the busy time of the year but we have 4 members playing in regional finals on Monday 16th December that need as much support as they can get. In the men’s triples, Mick Rose along with Scott & Tony Rees will take on a combined team from Mitcham & Vermont South. In the women’s 4’s Pam Arnot’s composite team along with Ruth Phillips, Carol Protopapas & Vicki Hudson will also be plying off for a state finals berth. Both games will be played from 6pm at Heathmont BC. Let’s get as many fellow Pirates down there to show our support.

18.01.2022 Finally some good news with some of the social distancing regulations being relaxed as of 11.59pm Tuesday night. This however does not mean that the greens will be open for practice on Wednesday. Bowls Vic have a meeting tomorrow to discuss how all this will be implemented & the CBC board has their monthly meeting on Wednesday where we will hopefully be able to come up with a date to allow practice again. Be patient people, were nearly there!

14.01.2022 A message from our president - Dear Members, I can now advise that our synthetic green will be available for roll-ups again from Tuesday 14 July. Bowls Victoria have issued new guidelines for club roll-ups and we have permission from the Council to reopen in accordance with those guidelines. However, conditions are now more restrictive than those previously in place. If you wish to bowl you must comply with the following conditions:... Only 2 players per rink Maximum of 10 bowlers on the green at any one time (CBC members only) Bowlers must observe 1.5 meters social distancing (unless from the same family) Attendance details must be recorded in the register Cleaning of mats and jacks before and after use Refrain from touching other players bowls Clean hands regularly No entry to the Clubhouse Bowling days and times are the same as previously available. 12.01.2022 The last weekend in September isn’t just all about the AFL grand final it’s also the state finals of this year’s BPL cup which will have a Pirate theme this year. Mark ‘Funky’ O’Halloran, Mathew ‘Athlete’ Creighton, John ‘Dicko’ Dixon & Frank ‘Tank’ Limb are down to the last 8 with the top 2 advancing to represent Victoria at the national finals in QLD later in the year. Sunday 29th September from 10am at Dandenong Club is where it’s happening & it would be great to get as many members as possible down to support them. Go Pirates!

12.01.2022 Don’t forget that Saturday pennant kicks off a night early at Croydon this year with the Mighty Pirates Div 2 side taking on Lilydale tomorrow night at home. Game kicks off around 7pm but the bbq & bar will be firing from 6pm. Let’s get as many supporters down to cheer on the boys & girls in this local grudge match. Go Pirates!

10.01.2022 Well what a night it was last night, the counting of all moneys raised continues but it is going to be well above the figures the boys were hoping for. To Ounch, Athlete, Baz, Jimmy, Wild Man & the late inclusion Rocket the hair’s off now & some of you look better for the cut, some not so. You guys were the reason this night happened. To Jo from Serendipity in Lilydale, thank you for donating your time to cut the boys hair. Oresome on the BBQ, the girls behind the bar, everyo...ne that helped sell raffle tickets on the night, Dicko for being Dicko when stuff has to get done & all others that helped out on the night. To our bowls family from other bowls clubs around the area thanks for supporting the night. Captain Ian Brownrigg & his wife Michelle from Sarsfield CFA, the night was for you & your community along with Cudgewa CFA, your words had everyone tuned in & you could have spoken all night. To everyone that bought raffle tickets & auction items, the money you spent is going to a great cause. 10.01.2022 Fun day of bowls for our div 1 side at Pakenham BC today. Weather wasn’t the greatest. First 2 photos were taken 15 minutes apart.

07.01.2022 A quick follow up message to all members. As of now, the club is on total shut down to all members. This includes social roll ups or individual practice.....the greens are also now closed. Green keepers will be allowed to continue their work on our greens but until further notice we have to do everything we can to ensure Croydon Bowling Club does its bit to keep society safe. If anyone has property at the club that they wish to access they should contact a board member to arrange a time to get your belongings. Stay safe everyone.

03.01.2022 Great news!! Croydon BC will re-open this Saturday for roll ups under the new COVID-19 conditions. Roll ups will be for members only on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s & Saturday’s at this stage. Bookings will be essential via an online booking system on the clubs website. This should be live either later this evening or tomorrow morning. Conditions of play will be available online when booking & at the club.

03.01.2022 Get down to Croydon BC this coming Monday at 5pm for the final of the men’s & women’s singles. In the men’s we have Ethan Pell taking on Daniel Hudson & in the women’s we have Katie Sherlock against Marianne Sudborough. Weather is looking good so pop down for a couple of drinks & watch some good bowls.
