05.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! Easing of restrictions for dental and allied health services now allows us to resume some non-urgent face-to-face procedures at Croydon Orthodontics! Commencing Monday September 28 we will reopen our appointment books to commence care appointments for patients in active treatment only. Sadly, some limitations are still in place upon dental services. This means we are still required to defer some appointments, including some progress reviews and retainer appointmen...ts to a later date. Please rest assured we will be in touch with everyone who has had an appointment postponed over the last eight weeks to reschedule these while also maintaining a covidsafe environment for both our community and staff. Our reception team are super busy working their way through every cancelled appointment and rescheduling these as fairly as possible and ensuring that these patients are prioritised, this will take some time. We ask for your understanding and patience with our reception team as they undertake this mammoth task. Should your family have had an appointment affected by previous restrictions, we will be in contact. There is no need to contact the practice at this stage, we will be in touch with your new appointment time. Our team and community safety is of paramount importance throughout this time, so scheduling and flow of your appointments will look a little bit different too! As previously, and to ensure continued compliance with government social distancing requirements, we kindly ask that only healthy patients with no household members unwell attend their appointments. All patients will have their temperature taken, provided with hand sanitiser, pre-procedural mouth rinse and be asked a series of health screening questions on arrival. Parents and siblings are asked to remain in the car or in our outdoor patient seating area. Should parents wish to chat with our Orthodontists your children are most welcome to bring a phone or iPad into their appointment to listen in or ask any questions. Patients are asked to bring along their own mask and sunglasses for their appointment as we are unable to safely provide them at this time. We very much appreciate your ongoing assistance, support and understanding at this unprecedented time. Take care everyone we are very much looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

As a result, we will be unable to see families in attendance of these schools for any appointments for the next two weeks should they have attended onsite learning this term. Should this affect your upcoming appointment please call our reception team on 9723 4825 to reschedule your appointment. Likewise if you are at all uncertain please contact the practice. 02.01.2022 Did you know that the average person spends more than 38.5 days in their lifetime brushing their teeth While we are on the topic of oral hygiene, wed like to take the opportunity to discuss the importance of brushing, particularly around your braces and orthodontic appliances. The picture above is the difference between healthy and unhealthy gums and teeth after braces have been removed. These white marks on the tooth surface act sort of like a "birth mark" on your t...eeth and are quite difficult to remove once they appear. Therefore the best course of action is to prevent them! White spots can happen for a number of reasons. Allowing soft, furry plaque to build up and stay on your teeth and around brackets for a prolonged period of time is a big factor that results in this demineralisation. An excessive intake of sugary drinks which hang around your braces can also result in these marks. At Croydon Orthodontics we find that a little bit extra TOOTH TLC makes a HUGE difference! We find that spending extra time brushing around your appliances, as well as the use of piksters and super floss/floss threaders super helpful in keeping your teeth and gums healthy. Maybe you find this works for you too? If it does, keep it up Please remember to take care of yourself while were in this unprecedented time, and that of course includes taking care of your TEETH! Were looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful patients at your upcoming appointments with sparkling clean teeth #croydonorthodontics #braces #brushyourteeth #piksters #healthyteeth #healthygums
