25.01.2022 At Shechem Children's Home, children who have been rescued from online sexual exploitation are given a safe place to live while receiving emotional, spiritual, ...medical, and psychological support, and while plans are made for long-term placement. The children receive care and support from house parents, therapists, social workers, and Nazarene volunteers. Chen* is a five-year-old survivor, and she dealt with complex emotions following her rescue. She expressed anger and sadness toward her family for their neglect and communicated poorly with peers while struggling through her feelings. Often, she acted out physically. Comprehensive assessment and art therapy sessions have helped the team at Shechem identify Chen’s emotional and psychological needs and given Chen the tools to express her emotions in a healthy way. Through emotional coaching, positive reinforcement, and the facilitation of self-regulation skills like art therapy, journaling, and prayer, Chen has found help processing her traumatic past. She now turns to drawing or playing when she starts to feel overwhelmed. During her time at Shechem, Chen has ceased intentionally acting out physically. She says, It is Jesus who makes me kind, especially for my hands to not hurt others. The other children say they now love to play with her. When you participate in this year’s Freedom Offering as part of Freedom Sunday, you are making a difference in the lives of children like Chen, helping them find hope for a future after trafficking. #livecompassion Learn more about Shechem: ncm.org/shechem Learn more about Freedom Sunday: ncm.org/freedomsunday Give to the Freedom Offering: ncm.org/freedomoffering

19.01.2022 Human trafficking is happening in western countries inclding Australia not just in our poorer countries. It is sexual, industrial, economic and household.

16.01.2022 Due to the roadworks on South Road at Croydon Park, the bus - 232 or 230 - no longer stops outside the church on Days Road. The bus stop is now on South Road, bus stop 15, walk west down Hudson Avenue to the church at the end of street.

15.01.2022 Croydon Park and Gawler Nazarene churches joined with churches around Australia to make backpacks for Christmas for young Aboriginal children in Western Australia. 06.01.2022 It was with great sadness that we said goodbye to our friend Bonasa Nkalakatsa at Adelaide Airport today as she travels back to her family in Swaziland. Her flight was delayed 2 months. Pray for safe and continuous flights with no cancellations on the way. It has been a pleasure having her as part of our congregation for the last 20 months. God's richest blessings.

In the Philippines, where programs for children have been made a specific priority, seven child development centers minister to almost 700 students. This includes programs for both children from the community and pastors’ children. The program for pastors’ children helps relieve pastors of the burden of educational fees, including tuition, school supplies, and uniforms. The programs that care for children from the community emphasize holistic care that helps children grow to become healthy, productive adults. Children receive academic assistance, health care, and spiritual guidance, and are enriched through camps and field trips. As centers in the Philippines were forced to close due to COVID-19 lockdowns, the staff and volunteers in each center provided care for the families of their students in new ways. Many distributed relief items like food and sanitation supplies to the families of children who regularly attend, and these distributions made a difference. One 7-year-old girl wrote her sponsor during the lockdown and shared, At home while quarantined, my family are enjoying watching TV and chit-chatting with each other. I received relief goods and we are very thankful. Thank you, my friend. May God bless you more. We pray for the children of the Philippines. We pray they would continue to grow through the ministry of child development centers. Help each child to know you are with them, and provide for their families’ needs during the pandemic. >>>>Standing Against Human Trafficking on Freedom Sunday On September 20, churches around the world will unite to stand united against the evil of human trafficking. On Freedom Sunday, churches participate through prayer, advocacy, support of church-led anti-trafficking efforts, and celebration of what God is doing through the church to set people free. Whether in-person or virtually, your church can participate this year. Learn more and sign up at ncm.org/freedomsunday. We pray for anti-trafficking ministries and church-led efforts that are offering a new life to the oppressed. May we seek to learn more about the problem and care for these beloved daughters and sons, and offer them freedom from slavery and freedom in You.

02.01.2022 Message from the Board of General Superintendents: The Great I AM"Today, many people are anxious, worried, and concerned about the future. It seems as if the coronavirus has changed everything. We wonder when or if things will ever get back to normal. In Exodus 3:7, we are reminded that God reveals Himself to us in the time of our greatest need.
