24.01.2022 Lest we forget... Last night I received unanimous support for my motion for City of Holdfast Bay, in conjunction with key community leaders, to develop a proposal for an interactive memorial to the mental health impacts of war and conflict on our service personnel. The memorial would seek to generate greater understanding and recognition, reduce stigma and promote harm minimisation and healing.

13.01.2022 Landscaping works have been undertaken to enhance and beautify North Brighton Cemetery. Staff from council's Depot team and contractors recently laid turf and p...lanted shrubs along the King George Avenue entrance to the cemetery, as part of the improvement works. Inside the cemetery, 47 sunken graves have been repaired to prevent safety issues and a number of footpaths have been regraded to improve the surface and reduce dust. Council allocated $40,000 in this year's budget to carry out the improvement works which will also include new bins, benches and upgraded signage.

07.01.2022 Do you see the similarities? Thanks to the super stylish KKW at Glenara for helping us with the perfect shade of white.Well done Mary Royale. Glenara is the ins...po for the colour and the pointing (as well as the fact that the original colour of the Town Hall was a shade of white). Magnificent- in addition to the painting, the restoration of the entire facade and clock tower is almost complete. It has been a massive job but the building will now stand tall for another 100 years @holdfastbay See more

01.01.2022 Today Maria Chabrel and I joined some likeminded local and honorary local gentlefolk in participating in the #distinguishedgentlemansride A Worldwide event, last year 550 Adelaidians donned their finest tweed and road their vintage , classic and not so classic motorcycles together for #menshealth. This year was a bit different with Covid. Not being able to ride in a big group we and others came up with our own rides. Ours departed #Glenelg from one of our groups businesses C...ut Snake Barbershop and joined the Bay to Birdwood mob along Anzac Hwy on the way to Ebenezer Plc in Adelaide to pay homage to our traditional start point, where we met up with other groups who shared our idea. We then headed out to historic Port Adelaide later riding along our beautiful coastline concluding back in the City of Holdfast Bay at the Seacliff Beach Hotel for lunch. Along the way we saw many other #gentlefolk on their steads. Some tacked on to our group and along the Patawalonga I found myself leading over fifty bikes! The weather was clear and cool and the company warm. A wonderful day with friends, raising valuable resources or men’s health. The donation pages are still open for a while so if you haven’t yet donated please join us in this important cause. Stay Dapper! https://gfolk.me/philipchabrel #MentalHealth #suicideprevention #movember #prostatecancer
